Checked the race update for Whittier this morning and this caught my eye. Does anyone have additional info on this new Chinease composite ARF??

"Gino Delponte & Tony Lopez with the new "NINJA 500" from China.
Gino turned a 1:06 with this plane before it's ill fated flight. The "NINJA 500" will be availiable in the USA very soon for a very reasonable price."

hi daven
did you have any site for this airplane?

dapan

dapan -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/22/2008 3:29:26 PM)

www.flycontrolline.com
if you search....[8|][8|]

daven -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/22/2008 3:40:47 PM)

Yeah, I just got that also.

I guess when I heard Chinease and very reasonable, I didn't expect $400.

Dang.

Still not a bad price if it is competitive with the Vortexs/Neme-Q pluses, but not low enough to draw casual 424 racers to 428.

burgster -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/22/2008 4:13:52 PM)

From what I saw that $399 is just the intro price and it is going to go up. But I guess it will be nice that they are or will be in stock.

Yes Dave we need another 424 arf. The Viper is ok, but you have to buy 10 just to find 1 that's worth a flip. To bad they killed Lanier,[&o], I love my old Pred 1.

P.S. the Ninja is from the same people that are selling the Profi engines, if that helps.

daven -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/22/2008 5:15:33 PM)

Looks a lot like a slingshot to me..

dapan -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/22/2008 5:43:43 PM)

1:06 in fai course i think is veryyyyy good time for Q500 plane... did anyone know the engine who run the Ninja?

dapan

daven -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/22/2008 6:16:00 PM)

Nelson LS was what Gino was running, not sure on prop.

I thought the samething, well you know what they say "Sick minds think alike"[:D]

Any word on the Profi engines? Other than whats on their site, its seems to have been quiet.

rmenke -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/22/2008 8:39:48 PM)

D:

Wonder how the Profi engine would do on a Jett SJ carb, either 15 or 40? Smooth sounds very good to me, but doubt if the Sports Jett 60LX will be under any direct compitition, though it shakes a little. ENJOY

daven -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/22/2008 9:52:13 PM)

Profis would have been good competition for the Nelson SS motors, I don't think they have faired all that well against the newer LS motors though.

Never run a Jett .60LX Roger so I have no idea. I do know that the LS Nelsons, when running right, are pretty amazing.

daven -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/22/2008 9:59:21 PM)

Ninja on the Left, SlingShot on the right.

garys -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/22/2008 10:00:22 PM)

Gino was using a Nelson LS with an 8.75x8.5N prop at Whittier.

dapan -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/23/2008 12:09:27 AM)

yes it looks like Bruce de Castel quickies but SlingShot cost 585$ and Ninja 399$...[:D][:D]

daven -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/23/2008 2:07:14 AM)

There may be a price difference, but I know Bruce's stuff won't blow apart at 170 mph :)

I have not seen the quality of the Ninja, but I know Bruce's stuff has been solid to me.

Well, I've seen a Shotgun blow apart, so I guess that theory goes out the window.

Yeah , but you've been around so long, that you might have seen the Wright brothers, mess up a time or two. [:D]

HighPlains -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/23/2008 2:43:56 AM)

I used to tell my mentor the same thing too. You got one of those 7 digit AMA numbers?

Profi America -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/23/2008 3:15:42 AM)

Guys,
In addition to Gino, Tom Strom, and Tom Jr have both been flying early versions of the Ninja, all are very happy with the performance. The new one piece wing has really brought it all together.

Send inquires from the web site attn: Judith. You can thank Will Naemura for the time and $$$$$$ (a lot of them) behind this project. Airplanes will ship from Portland, Oregon so shipping is based from there.

Thanks,
Judith

garys -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/23/2008 3:18:25 AM)

My AMA number only has five digits, but I'm still younger than most of you!

I was looking at the remains of Gino's Ninja's, and the quality looks very good. I believe they did have one in Phoenix where the leading edge hold down area let go, but my understanding was they had already realized it may not be enough and had already improved them.

No, mine is only 6 digit's [:)], face it there some of you guys on here that have forgot more about r/c than I know. I'm young enought to still be smart a$$ed, but old enough, to know when not to be.

Mine too[:o]

Jim Wolfe -> RE: Ninja 500 (3/23/2008 7:24:37 AM)

It all "seems" to fit. Bruce doesn't appear to sell the Slingshot anymore, possibly because of a deal to make them for Profi. I wonder ???
