Since it was my first time I didn't want to take too much away, just increase fuel flow.

My OS .30VG.

Before:

After:

Boost port

Fuel ports

Bottom of sleeve

Exhaust, untouched

ya i guess it looks pretty nice...next time, i would point the "fangs" tilting more away from the exhoust port..meaning it should have more angle instead of pointing vertical...btw, i believe JB Comp and SavageJim are really good at doing this stuff..fyi

I read a guide that said that the fangs should have the same angle as the fuel channel or what you call it in the engineblock.

Yes I know there are people like ABmods out there that do really good work, but I don't want to spend the cash on this engine since the ABL sleeving gives it a rather short life.

Thanks! I'll post a two vids....one before and hopefully I can make an after vid tomorrow if the weather is ok.

This simple porting is supposed to give up to 15% more power in a sportsengine. Can't wait to see if there's a noticable difference and if so how big it is.

Didn't want to mess up the sleeve since I'll haave to live with that engine for a while.

Don't know what gains I can expect from my porting, but the guide said about 15% in a simple sports engine, and the .30VG is as simple as they coma lol

I will take it apart and do the crank as well when I change enginebearings, and when I do that I'll also polish it a lot better, didn't have all the right tools for my dremel now.

I ported one motor but it didn't gain any power and just became harder to tune + would stall

Did you change the portsize? I haven't, I only changed the shape on the outside of the ports.

Danju, You're catching on to this porting stuff.

ch_mayday, Like Danju said, you could add a little more angle to it. You want them to point to the top corner of the sleeve (above the boost port) and do a little buffing (or polishing) to the sleeve and you'll be good to go. You could take some more off BTW.

I've assembled the engine allready, but if you think I have some to gain from pulling it apart again and angle the fangs more, take more off and polishing it more...I'll do so. Let me know what you think.
Thanks!

you will gain some more by taken more off, but I would run it as is now. Then keep reading and learn more about porting then take it apart and redo it.
Read and look at other people's work, is the best thing you can do.

Do a search on "modding" in this forum (car engine) and there will be about two or three that talk about porting.

Good luck.

Do I need to re-tune needles after porting like this?
