I have two HS5245MG servos. I am trying to use them on a Futaba fasst system. One of them works and the other does not. They are plugged into ch 4 and 5 on a 14 rx. Interesting is the fact that the one recently purchased with a date of Mar 02 works. The one that is about 1 year old with a V 1.04 sticker does not.

I thought the V 1.04 was the latest and greatest. What is the difference in the two servos and why does the V1.04 not work on the FASST system?

I know about the low voltage signal from the Futaba Rx.

I'm not sure why the one servo will not work... have you checked it with any other systems?

Mike.

Yes I have...They both work fine on Futaba PCM, not the FASST. I know the low voltage on the FASST is the cultprit, just curious as to what is different with the two versions of servos.

We did have a problem with some of the digital servos with Futabas low signal voltage and had to change a resistor to get them to work. The latest servos have this different resistor and should work but you have one that does not. I would send it in with an explaination and we can update the servo. Hopefully this will solve your problem.

Mike.

Thank you Mike

Shipping the servo to Cali from Canada may not be the most cost effective solution. I have had servos updated by Hitec in the past but I hand delivered them while on a bussiness trip in the area. I may just wait for the next opportunity unless this is something I can do myself with Hitecs advice on the resistor.

Do you know what the signal voltage minimum is for the upgraded servos? How close are they to the 2.7 volts of the FASST systems?

Sorry, I can't give you the resistor info.

I don't know what the minimum.

Mike.

OK...Thank you for your assistance. I will keep it until I am in your area. It should be in the near future.
