Crazy4Flight -> Cessna 337 ? how much nose weight? (3/23/2008 4:06:52 AM)

IS NOSE WEIGHT ALWAYS NEEDED ?

CG at 70 mm = 2.76" which is about 31% MAC (PER MANUAL)

I STILL need to add 4 oz of lead to the nose/firewall.

I have cut and fitted a 1100ma JR battery under the front fuel tank!

There is a Hitec slim wing servo (HS-125) .8oz in the stab. In place of two HS-81 .67 oz. each in the tail booms just in front of the stab.

A flying buddy has the .52 size and he had to add about a pound of lead to the nose!

Should I consider myself lucky?

Power OS .32 SX CG checks done without spinners, but cowls, props and nuts installed. front engine has 1" exaust extention to stock muffler rear has MACS pitts muffler. Rear muffler system maybe lighter than the front I need an accurate scale to get exact weight.
Front engine is about 14" in front of CG rear is back about 12.5" at glowplug. so adding spinners will give less than 1/2oz to the nose balance.

BOB

Has the factory' QC manager actually taken a production line kit and assebled and flown it?
