Why do you want it to be independent as opposed just using a Y-harness?! Just curious...

I think the idea is that in certain situations you might want the rear steering locked out so that the rear wheels continue their current track......but I may be wrong .

The only link I can give to the RCCA issue is here. I have the print copy at home but no way to scan it at the moment.

I can easily do completely independent (hmm, not sure if it is a good idea, ha!) rear steer as I am using a dual stick radio.. maybe I should just drop the servo in there just for the heck of it... ha!! I guess it would be helpful when you are really doing hardcore crawling.. but for now, I am okay w/ just front steering.. !!

It is good to see that Tamiya is making these websites for its fans! With the introduction of the CR-01, there comes the crawler specific website!

http://www.tamiyacrawlers.com/

It is good to see the manufacturer supporting the hobby!

All the digs that I have seen so far are pretty home made.. I wonder if any of the aftermarket company (such as rc4wd, etc.) would make a nicely machined unit that has a clutch that let you engaged and dis-engaged the rear drive shaft..

I know they have that on their own transmission, but I am talking about just the add-on type.. in line with the drive-shaft..

it's the way I see on the crawlers videos...and because I have a TQ3 system to share...I was just curious...
I also intend to build (when the time will come) only FWS (it's more scalish) or 4WS using Y cable (infact I will make myself connection on servo cables, soldering is not a problem)...but I have to see if the servos will not moving in the same direction, and getting a slide moves of the truck...

Added a fan on top of the ESC to make sure the ESC is cool..

ESC heats up especially when the motor is stalled.. so it is good to have the fan there!

If ya gona run 4ws you need a reversing 'Y' cable personally i woulden't and use the 3rd cahnnle for dig, but why should that shop you...
