I am pretty sure the stabilizer will be made of steel... it is a torsion bar setup.. !! Silly rcMart!

You guys should try running a good 35t motor. Like this one, http://www.jpcustomrcs.atomicshops.com/catalog/item/4859786/5254837.htm

I run one in my crawlers, they are sweet, allow you to go veeerry slow and have some wheelspeed as well. I run a 3 cell lipo 2100mah with it and get 2 hours of runtime.

Just curious why do you go higher turn on the motor and then up the voltage.. I mean, I understand that this allow you to generate more power.. but is that much power really needed?

I mean, why not a 27T motor w/ 7.2V, for example... if you want to go slow, why use the 3S li-po?

Just curious.. thanks!!

When I have tried using a 27t for example, it did not have the low end tourque and super slow speed needed for crawling, but it had decent wheelspeed. The motor would stall if bound just a little. Of course quality of motor has alot to do with it as well but I could not get the slow speed control at all. And a 35-45-55 lathe motor on 7.2 has great slow speed control and OK wheelspeed, but bump it up to 3 cell and you get all the slow speed with enough top end to jump up and over some rocks if you need to. Or throw some dirt around. Plus the lipo batteries I use are half the size/weight and still last 2 hours. I run 15c or 20c 2100mah 3 cells I bought for under 50 bucks and they dont even get warm after 2 hours.

www.holmeshobbies.com has some really cool 7t puller motors that can go very slow and very fast off of a 7.2v pack but they cost 79.99. check em out.

Cool.. that makes sense.. I think I will give the stock silvercan a try first, though.. then see if I should spend more money on changing that out!

Have you ever tried the bigger can motor? Such as the 550-sized motor for the extra torque?

I have tried big powerful 1000kv brushless motors, able to snap the drivline if you arnt careful, but they dont have the slow speed control like a brushed.

Try the silver can, theres a guy who run only those at our comps, does fine, has ok slow speed and enough stop end to smoke the tires. With the gearing reduction listed for the cr 01 it may handle it just fine. There are people who use a good 19t and make a rock racer as well.

Ive already been spoiled by the 35t warrior and 3 cell, i dont think i can ever go back. Just ordered another one actually.

Post up on here how you like the stock can.

Oh, to answer your question, no never tried a 550. Give it a shot, as long as its brushed and has the tourque for low rpm without binding you should be able to go as slow as you want.
