Ok I got the iron too hot applying Monocoat . I assume -- I did not notice the the iron had picked up the blue color ( glue). When I went to the white to touch up some wrinkels, I got the blue on to the white -- How or what do I use to clean the white and get rid of the blue or any other color I screw up and smear. So far no luck, more heat just makes matters worse.
thanks

Make sure you unplug the iron and let it cool off before you use the acertone on it.

Acetone will also remove the glue marks from the covering from where the covering shifted slightly during shrinking.

Hey MGM52:

IMO you can't go wrong using Coverite Ironex. It's great for cleaning your iron and getting your monokote clean. I use it more for the monokote cleaning than for the iron and have used it for over 20 years. It's part of my monokote covering procedure. I've just completed the Ultra Sport 40 below.

CA Debonder works like a charm to clean the seams and your iron. A few drops on a paper towel and you're all set!

You can also use Monokote trim solvent to clean up your iron and seams. Good Luck, Dave

Here's atip I learned a while back. Put Moneycoat Trim Solvent in a small spray bottle. (I use old CA Kicker spray bottles.) Keep it handy when your covering a model with ANY type of iron on covering. When you need to clean up an edge (even Ultracoat) just give it a little spray and wipe with a paper towel. Trim Solvent is kinda pricey and using it this way makes a bottle last a long, long time. Also cleans up am iron that has accumulated adhisive but like said above it's best to do this to a cold iron.
