As I said in my body thread, I would make a few vids for everyone. Now the batts I used are 1500mAh nicds just in different cell counts and a different brand. Here they are:

6 cell Field Bashing
6 Cell Speed Runs
8 Cell Speed Runs

This was with the new body

no but 1500 NICDs are known for bad performance. Next weekend, I will try to rebuild my tenergy 4200's into SxS so I should see a jump in performance.

With the brushless and the stampede, I get wheelies no matter what battery I have

I'm also going to try to get some matched ener-g 4600s in a 6 cell (they are currently the best nimh)

The stampede is so light and 2wd. It shouldnt take much to wheelie that. Get a lipo and really watch that truck scream.

yeah I am currently running a 5000 lipo in the brushless volcano. I can give it full gas on pavement and do a flip right back on the wheels all the way over.

Wow not bad for 1500 NICDs. Im going to build an 8 cell propel SxS with orion gold batt bars.
I also ordered 4 5x10x4mm rubber sealed and 4 10x15x4mm teflon sealed ball bearings from rcboyz for $13 shipped and it makes a great difference. Less wheel wobble and less friction compared to the horrible bbs that come stock with it.
I also put 10,000cst Assosiated silicone oil in the diffs, that also makes a big difference in handling/off-road.

http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/_top_speed.html use that it's really neat. though I have a Tornado EPX the gears should be the same except for your pinion. I counted the spur to be 64T, shaft gear is 13T, Diff is 38T, my pinion was 26T yours should be lower. I'm using a 16T you can see why in the vid
Are you using the green esc with blue/purple 3300KV or a new one?

Here's my vid, I'm alone and have a digi cam witch makes it kind of crappy.

Wow now that really is worth the extra 100 bux lol. Wish I had that money to throw around, I wonder how many amps you're pulling when you're doin' that. Btw is there like a cheap watt meter that records that stuff? I know tower likes to charge up the butt for $5 electronics like that...maybe I'll make my own.
