I have reciently installed a mach 427 in my savage I ran about 3 tanks threw it and then tried to dial it in I have it running preaty good now the temp at its highest has been 216 F now I seem to be burning out glow plugs every run I waisted 2 plugs yesterday and I went threw 2 tanks of gas please help before I pull my hair out! thanks

are you running it completely out of fuel?

i went thru the same thing with my 427 when i ran it out of fuel.leaned out and popped the plug every time.i richened the LSN a tad a the problem stopped.the 427 likes to be fat on the LSN.

my settings are lsn 1 1/2 and hsn 3 1/2 out and my elevation is 1063 ft. am I way off because I am not real happy with this motor. your input please!!

running lean is the main thing that kills glow plugs. this can also happen if you have a leak somewhere. ive once seen an axial engine that had a leak which caused it to burn 3 glow plugs in just a couple of tanks. it was like a glow plug every 2 - 4 tanks. This happened no matter how it was tuned, and it was all because of the air leak.

Try richening the hsn a little and leaning the lsn a little...

leaks suck,start with the simple stuff.head bolts,fuel lines,

this may be off topic but what size is the 427? is it a .26 or a .28?
