I'm a noob with copters.

After a crash of my Axe CP-L, where the tail boom was slightly bent, I was able to straightened it OK.

Now when the tail motor starts turning, it will go from off, to very slow to "full on" (with no in between) causing a rapid clockwise spin.

The motor wiring moves freely in the tail boom, so it doesn't seem to be shorted.

Connections look OK. Main rotor, other controls and everything else seems OK.

TIA

More correctly, I put the tail motor mount in upside down, so the tail rotor was on the left side of the boom. The tail shaft had a hole on both sides (I'm not sure if it just goes through). I put the set screw in the wrong side, so the motor was above the boom. I'm a noob, as I say.

Aha! So it was spinning counterclockwise. Lots of people on here have reassembled their heli only to find some parts were installed backwards. That's what separates the noobs from the pros. Don't forget the manual shows the blade grips with the ball link towards the leading edge, and that is backwards.
