it doesn't have a 2 speed, but it's 1 speed is faster than most 2 speeds because it has alot less rotating mass. The muggy is really durable, and really only needs a lighter set of tires and wheels and a 12 tooth vented clutch bell to make it really fast stock!

Hi,

I am getting my Muggy (stock) this week, and I'd like to plan to order these upgrades.
Would it be possible for you to post links to each of these items, to a website where I can order them (from one place)?

That would be very useful... I am getting back into the hobby (after 15 years off) and am confused with all the brands and models.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I can't wait to get my Muggy

I've invested about $4000 into this hobby over the last 2 years and I've been running a muggy the whole time, I love the faces at the track when their MBX5T or XT8s get pwned by my Muggy, with the right mods I think the Muggy is superior in the truggy class.

I run

7k front, 10k center, 5k rear.

37.5wt rear shocks 30wt front shocks.

stick on a 50 or so tooth spur gear, don't be afraid to shim and dremel making it fit.

adjustable camber a-arms, RPM makes them.

HS5955TG single servo (move one of the steering servos to the throttle).

12t Sportwerks clutch bell and speed 2.5, fioroni slider w/carbon shoes or a werks centax clutch if you adjust the gearing.

15 degree carriers, adds some caster, it responded well to that.

Aluminum diff cases and diff cups with steel inserts

Fiber brake disks

after putting on 17mm hubs run some Proline LPR tires with the right tread for your track, never run off-set or your muggy will have the tuning radius of an oil tanker!

Use a turnbuckle in place of the stock steering push rod, and put 6x10x3 bearing in place of the bellcrank bushings.

I run the I-RC chassis, which allows droop adjustment and reduces flex.

Another option is CF kit Speedtechnitro used to make a killer one before they died.

Also buy the single peice motor mount and go for a OFNA 10244 starter box.

You'll want to upgrade the radio system and engine too.

If you're serious about racing I'd go for a JPX 28, Drake 28, N528XR or TM7 or 928.

And go for a M11 set up with 2.4ghz. as your radio.

then go for a set of Hudy wrenches among other things.

Hope you do well,

-Matt

right off the bat, pull the engine and locktite the screw that holds the clutchbell on.

other than the known cluth issues, its a great truck, fun basher, little maintance and a purrty orange shell
