Mart,

You can make all the cowlings you want, with our blessings.
It's when you start making them for others that I step in...

No worries mate!

Thanks for that mate i thought as much from our other conversation about them a while back thanks for your blessing.Ill say it again though im not intending to make these for anyone else it was just a quick way to make one for the next build. It will be good practice for future scratch built projects though as im quite new to glass work.

The build continues, all the decks on ive been trimming it and rounding off the nose today, needs a bit of filling to neaten it up but its taking shape niceley.Ive added a fin to the cowl i used some scrap ply from the kit i cut some tongues into the bottom edge and some slots into the cowl 3 in all ill epoxy it in place and maybe add some glass cloth inside round the tounges to hold it.

Mnaged to seal the deck with epoxy today and also routed the exhaust and found a nice stainless round plat to use on the transom for the ali extension tube to fit into. The ali tube fits over the silencer without touching and im using a silicon coupling over the two to join them so theres no bare silicon exposed to the gasses, should work well.

Heres a few more pics notice my tank slides into a hole cut in the forward bulkhead to fit under the deck a little its a 20 oz tank i had spare it should give long runtimes.I fitted a breather tube to the top nipple it has 3 in all one for fuel the other for a return ,i fitted a coil of tube to the breather should stop any water entering the tank if it flips.

Looks good mate, but there is not much room on the transom for the twin rudders.

Hmm never thought of that [)],not much room for the single one either lol.I will have to modify the bracket for the rudder as it is but not to worry it will get sorted.

Hey martno1fan
I saw your boat running today. It impressed the heck out of me. This boat ran like being on rails and was fast I couldn't believe it. It had a stock Sikk inside. Once I finish my hydro I might get me this Zipp kit. It's well worth it. Martno, you 'll gonna love this shovelnose.

Probably should shut my mouth,but I won't............

You cut the hole too big for the exhaust stinger,so that it has compromised the transom strength.

Add the rudder, strut, and the stress of those will rip that transom apart.

how do you work that out? the hole is 7/8 " same as most peoples that ive seen the plate is bigger obviously, strength is fine its all glass rienforced as are all the jojns on the hull shouldnt have any problems at all in my opinion.Heres a pic of Don Ferrette's exhaust exit, its exactly the same as mine and seems to work just fine [)].
