thanks for the input Tom. Did you get your plane glassed? The belly pan looks good. Does anyone know how far the air valve refill needs to stick out past the sheetin so the pump can connet to it. Mine sticks out 3/16. Is this too short. Are you going to use .5 or .7 oz cloth on the wing and fuse?

We got the cloth laid down on everything but the flaps. Should finish it up this week. I didn't post any pictures because I just don't find glassing all that interesting.

This thread has been asleep for a while.....

Well, my corsair is almost done! I still need a couple of weeks (maybe more, who knows...) to make ailerons and flaps work smooth and I'll be ready for painting.
Fuse is 100% finished, already covered, sanded and ready to be painted.

Mistral, what about your build? Let us know!

Marco

RETRACTS!!

Hi all,

did some of you hear about LADO Retracts? ( http://lado-tech.com ).
These guys manufacture electic retracts, they have a rotating model born for H-9 Corsair. Maybe it can fit also in the Top-Flite Corsair with minor mods.
Looking at the pictures on their www, looks they are very robust, much better than the Robart 615....
Well, I'll contact them for some info, I'll let you know.

AT-6, thanks for the link!

Thanks Pete!

No finish is decided yet ...any suggestions?

Maybe I'll go for the Pappy Boyington's Corsair, it's a classic, but is seems so obvious....

Nice looking build Marco but you need to swap your gear around, the wheels should face out!

Good looking Corsair
I have been so busy with kids out of school and vacations I have not been working on mine. I have the wing ready to install the gear doors which are made but not cut. I think I will try to glass the wing before I install the doors. I am leaving next week on a mission trip to the amazon and will start back after that!
