What do you guys think? Will this work? I'd prefer to not move my main gear and just add another in the back, is the one in the back too far?

Also what about the down angle on the engine? Will that be a big problem?

My 2cents: CofG over step. Yes, incidence of engine a concern. While all things can be adjusted and compensated for, it is not going to set you up for success. Wing incidence needs to be considered also. Plane will either balloon or sink like a stone when throttle backed off, depending on relationship with wing. get that engine straightened up, it will save you grief.....

Downthrust is common, especially with trainers. The principal source of drag is the wing. Adding power below the wing causes a moment that lifts the nose. A little downthrust as you have it makes the plane fly straighter. It probably has the engine pointing a little to the right, also.

My Senior kadet has 6 degrees of downthrust. Even full-size planes use it: Here's a T-28
