Bridi Kaos. A faithful reproduction of the Kaos featured in the February 1969 RCM construction article by Joe Bridi. Weight is 5lbs 4.4 ounces or 2392 grams for the metric crowd. Finish is Orange and White Monokote with Black Econokote trim. Powered by a Super Tigre G60 BlueHead with PDP and Macs bolt on flow through muffler. New old stock Du-Bro 2 1/2" and 2 3/4" chrome hub treaded low bounce wheels. Control horns are new old stock Carl Goldberg, pushrods are Sullivan carbon fiber. Radio is a Futaba 9CAPS with R148DF receiver, Futaba coreless 9202 servos on rudder and elevator, JR 9421 ( 2 ) digitals on ailerons and JR 3021 coreless on throttle and a 4 cell 2/3AA 1400mah NimH flight pack. Plane was 70% built from an original Bridi kit and 30% scratch built. Although you won't see this particular plane doing battle in the southeast SPA wars as it will be delivered to my anxious dad in New Jersey this Sunday, my own nearly finished Kaos which is an identical twin except for servo and receiver choices and a ST G60 Blue head ABC Schnurle version will most likely be out to play in SPA this year. I'm also nearly finished with my son's Kaos which will be Salmon ( long out of production color ) and Cub Yellow Monokote with Sky Blue trim, powered by an OS 61 FSR special edition gold head and rolling on Kraft wheels.

I added your beautiful Kaos to my Classic Pattern image-base page 4. I hope you don't mind. I'm trying to keep classic pattern in the mainstream. My website has had over 1130 different visitors this month from 49 different countries. Its an interesting an fulfilling aspect of the hobby.

Thanks

I had a chance to buy some Calypso ARC kits for really low prices a few years ago. Now I'm kicking myself for not doing so.

One of the Bluehead ST's (not in the Calypso) is a square fin "X" version, if I'm seeing correctly. I'd like to experience seeing one of those run some time.

I have an old beat up flat top piston, ABC/ring, bluehead ST engine that a friend campaigned for years and years. Once, when he was flying this engine in a model that had the engine tilted down a bit from horizontal, the nose gear collapsed. The result was that some of the blue anodizing on the head was ground off. The engine really looks rough, but it still hauls a model around in a hurry. I'm running a Mac's flow-thru muffler (open front) on it and it never fails to gain attention when it takes to the air.

I'm trying to decide which model I'll put my friend's old stalwart Bluehead in. I'm thinking about putting it in the original Kaos, as shown in the OP's poster above.

OP, sorry, can't remember your name, you do some fine building. Your Kaos models are absolutely gorgeous.

Addendum: I'm wrong, the square engine IS in the Calypso.

Well I guess I screwed up. Plane is in NJ hanging up in my dad's shop, my dad says it is far too nice to fly !!! I am quite pleased with it as is he. It will get some air time once my dad gets up the nerve to fly it. On to Toledo tomorrow morning and then back to finishing my and my son's Kaos'es early next week. Then my AMA Masters new plane, an AeroSlave Symphony is next followed by an original TigerTail and a Dirty Birdy.
