Hi w8ye,  that was a timely post!

Is your "regular pump gas" straight 92 unleaded? Here in Ozzie Land we have E10, 92, 95 and 98 Premium.

The 92, by law, can have up to 5% ethanol. The Pennzoil 2 stroke oil is available here too.

Is "the Saito carb" the standard Saito 150 glow fuel carby?

Yes it is the regular Saito 150 glow carby

Our regular pump gasoline is listed as being 89 octane but it is the same as your 92. It is E10. The octane ratings are measured different

I have about 10 hours on it.

In reply to RossG (Radial) ,
E85 is closer in fuel mixture to methanol than straight gas and should give a steadier needle setting and better power in a Saito engine than straight gas. I think my plug was fouling because of the castor oil I used, I'm going to try some synthetic. Sadly, I don't spend much time tinkering with my RC stuff since I got an RV-4. -Tom in CO

Jezmo, would you please tell me where I can buy the parts to convert my Saito engines to gas...or, where I could send engines for conversions? Thank you!

The Saito 91 doesn't have enough room in it to convert the rod bottom end to needle bearings

I am building a twin with 2 ST G90 on it. I would like to put ignition and a CM6 plug on them and still run glow fuel. Will this work? The reason I want to do this is I want to mount tacks in the wing behind the engines.

16:1 gas/oil when running the bushed connecting rod

You will need to search for the needle bearing the others are using and select the proper size drill rod for the crank pin to run less oil.

Should run fine but there will be a problem with the reach on the CM-6 plug. You will need to shim the plug up with two washers under the threads

how bad does the spark plug may affect the engine tunning?

I´m using cheap chinese 1/4-32 on my ST90 and it is great on high speeds, but a little unstable on lower speeds.

My Saito 150 idles real well on gas with a RCEXL 1/4-32 plug and the original carb

You may have some other problem like an air leak somewhere?

The little RCEXL plug works great in my ST51, ST90, Saito 91 and Saito 180. No idle problems at all with any of them.

On some engines they may slip a couple times before they settle down and you will have to re-adjust the timing but I never had this problem.

If seen the prop drive washers that were split and these will never hold a permanent setting. If you have trouble, examine the hub carefully.
