This may be a really dumb question, but I''ve never had to do it before.....

I have a SJ 3000 and it''s developed a slow drip at high RPM''s. I want to take off the front cover to see if it''s just a loose fitting, but can''t for the life of me figure out how to do it!!!

Please help.

Thanks!
Mark

Hello,
i had the same exact problem.... a loose festo fitting.
Simply remove the four lateral screws and gently pull off the cover.

Mark,

Assuming that you have the older "Spun" front cover, remove the 4 socket head screws and slide the cover off.

The leak is likely a festo fitting or old tubing that needs to be replaced.

Start with the TUBING repalcement first.

Thanks guys for the input. As it turns out, the front cover screws off in a reverse thread fashion. Is this the new way or do I have an older version 3000?

After further inspection, I found that both Festo elbows were leaking . I tried replacing all the 4mm tubing under the cover and using the same elbows, but that didn't fix the problem.

Right now I have just the 4mm tubing coming from the brass tubes (safety wired of course) going to the Festo "Y" then to the solenoid. I left enough slack in the tubing to allow for about about a 1/2" radius bend so they wouldn't kink. Is there any problem leaving it this way? Should I open it all back up and put new 4mm elbows in there before permanently installing it in the airframe?

Thanks in advance!
Mark
