I have finished the upgrade to the rear upper arm which I have turned into a turnbuckle so I can adjust the rear camber also. I used RPM ball cups for the attachment to the shock tower and a different type connector for the connection to the rear C hub. If anyone knows what you call that connector let me know what the name if it is.
I am pretty much satisfied with the results of the way the truck is now. The only thing I am still working on is the axle stubs. The associated stubs I ordered fit, but they are 1mm wider in diameter. So I have ordered 6mm X 11mm X 4mm bearings as apposed to the 5mm X 11mm X 4mm. The stock axle stubs are a little short for the wheels I have now. The wheel nuts screw on pretty good but not enough to go all the way through the nylon locking part of the nut. The Associated axle stubs are about 3/8" longer than the stock axle stubs. This upgrade may even allow me to run the Stampede wheels that I have. They are the ones that were rubbing the rear of the chassis slightly.

Not bad? Its AWESOME!!!

BTW i think it would be called somthing like a "captured ball joint" or somthing... im pretty sure about the captured part though...

Hi all.
Picked up an me16-tc from ultimatehobbies for $140.

Havent had much runtime on it yet. the stock battery pack is a joke.

I do like the transmission setup. the rear diff has both a straight gear and bevel gear.motor to rear wheels uses the straight gear like most other 2wd vehicles, so it shoud stand up to some drivetrain abuse. shaft transmission transfers power to the front using the bevel gear side of the rear diff.

This thing is huge and heavy. Really think it's bigger than 1/16. the layout, uses more space than it needs to. Looks like there's room to modify the tray for lipos.

There is no slop! i'm impressed how firm the wheels hold. I'll be going brushless soon. not 540, but i do have a long 28mm 3200kv can that should move this easily. there appears to be some drivetrain binding. I'lll have to figure that out prior to bl.

Not impressed yet with durability. snapped the rear bumper off, so i'll prolly make my own -least it diid it's job.

Yes, it seems to be more like 1/12 scale. Let us know how that brushless motor runs. If you have a 540 mod motor you could drop in with an esc you would be amazed at the difference.
As far as the binding goes, have you checked the pinion to spur gear mesh? because there is no binding in mine.
Man, how did yo break the REAR bumber?

I have the tc. was setting up tthe controller in my kitchen, backed up 5 feet at 30% throttle into the wall.

I do think there's a lot i can do with it, I just think there's some necessary modfifications i need to do.

Already have brushless motors and esc -66amp quark roadster, so cost is nothing. Hopefully I'll be trying it out tomorrow. Today was ironman at the movies )

freaking awesome.

For the mesh, I'll be running the drivetrain bit by bit, since it's more like 2 drivetrains really. a 2wd+ 4wd, rear diff having bevel and straight gears. Actually, simply because the force on the rear wheels is transfered via straight gears as in most 2wd gear boxes, I think this should handle brushless power pretty well.

I didn't want the wheels to come out the side as in the rally version, but I do want fatter tyres. I think this has good potential, given it's off road roots, do be a nice rally car. You haven't seen any parts for sale yet have you? I'm thinking I should grab spare arms.

I'll get around to posting some pics once i set up my servers again.

WOW!! that drive train setup is supprising! but in a good way!

To be honest i was actually going to save up a bit more and by the new E Revo, but its going to cost alot more than i expected so im going to get the ME16MT when i get a chance.

No updates here, there isn't much you can do to a perfect truck

With the super easy upgrades I have done, I am perfectly happy with it now.

How are the diffs and driveline looking? I was going to get a CC Side Winder BL system, but have been persuaded other wise, im going to spend that little more and get the Mamba Max system. Only because they are that little bit more powerfull (dont realy care about power in such a small car) and the ESC is better, so its much more versatile i can use it in many other RC's!

Im yet to get it though!

I wouldn't get the Mamba 280 size motor for this boat. I had one in a similiar boat and it got REAL HOT. I would use a 380 size motor like the 380 size AMMO I just put in mine.

What diffs are you talking about? There are no diffs in this boat or any boat for that matter

I think a 400 can motor will work, BUT it needs to be a long can like the 56mm ammo's (torque). Do note - these will NOT fit normally. you'll have to cut your own slots in the plate. I the 3200kv ammo 28mmx56mm motor from tower is cheap, and pretty sick power - up to 666watts almost 1 hp!
