Hi Guys

I've just been given the ok to purchase a new heli. I've been flying an upgraded honeybee king2. Its now time to move into something a littler more serious. I don't do any 3d flying yet. I need some advice.

The 450se v2 looks like a great machine. It comes with a nice case and the spare parts are inexpensive and available everywhere.
The 500cf or fg is a bigger heli which gives it a cool factor. I hear it flies really nice and has a big helicopter feel. The spare parts seem to be easy to get (not as plentiful as the 450). They are a bit more expensive but not much. It doesn’t come with a case (I don’t think) And the batteries are bigger and much more expensive.

What do you think?????

Depends on how you fly and where you fly. The 450's are the biggest I'll fly in my backyard (urban area). I'd say to get the biggest you can but you're right, the cost of batteries for the bigger helis are hard on the wallet. If you do get the 500, remember to lube the tail as I've heard of static build up problems causing loss of radio signal in some cases.

Remember that the electronics will cost more on the 500, not just the kit. Mini servos (like the 9650) cost $55 vs $33 for the hs65mg... etc.
