I was all set to make the jump into dealing Helicopters in Canada. It appears everytime I press them about warranty coverage I get silence. Is it normal for the manufacturer to not cover their products for warranty once you open the box and fly it. Thanks to all that reply.

Yep. I'd say that's normal. Far too many people take them out of the box and fire them up without knowing what they're doing. The result is usually a pile of busted helicopter parts that the buyer wants to blame on faulty components. If you order from a reputable place they may replace individual parts like a faulty motor, servo, 4-in-1, etc., but I'm sure they've heard every excuse in the book. Usually, once it's left the ground you're on your own. I'd say most China/Hong Kong sellers have little to no customer service.

Just my 2 cents...

considering that even align takes a hands off approach to warranty issues it's not surprising that the smaller guys are following their lead.

If you became a dealer, how would you determine a "faulty" part from a "crashed" part? Seems a difficult thing for a dealer. Learning to fly my helicopter, I've replaced every part (except for the 4-in-1). If I claimed warranty coverage, the dealer and manufacturer would not be in business long.
