This is my first profile. I am to the point in the assembly of securing radio, battery and fuel tank. I have to install all linkages, the throttle servo and switch.

My questions are:

1. with the fuel tank resting all the way back against the wing, the fuel lines aren't more than 3/8 to 1/2 inch from touching the back of the prop. That's alot closer than I am accustom to. How have most of you routed your fuel lines safely and securly. I have a Saito 72, so my connections are towards the back of the engine. At this point (with engine at present location) the CG is where the servo's exit the bottom of the wing. I read that was a good CG location in another forum here. I could move the engine forward a little and move the battery back some...?????

2. The book shows a Saito 82 installation. The servo arm is exiting the wing through the hatch with a straight wire to the carb. The book refers to mounting the servo to the underside of the hatch. What method is best to secure the servo to the hatch? velcro, CA, foam tape, ????

3. In trying to thread the ball connectors to the rods, I had the elevator rod snap off while trying to loosen to stretch the distance. I am not accustom to using ball joints. Is there a problem with using other types of connections (z-bend, 90 degree bend w/nylon lock, metal/nylon clevis)???

4. The fiberglass control horns (as specially the rudder) hit the (wing, horizontal/vertical stableizers) when pulled, with a much lesser travel, than when pushed. Maybe 70 percent of the maximum when pulled. Vs 100 percent of the maximum when pushed. I am thinking of shortening the control arm and widening the inside arc. ?????

Thanks in advance for the help...

Here''s a pic of my fuel installation. I use a cable tie, tied to the tank ties to keep the fuel pipes away from the prop. The breather on my .82 spits out oil all over the place, so I put an extension on but with a T-piece to let it breathe still, but of course it just chucks oil out of that instead...

The throttle is on a mini servo placed vertically, top side up on some rails built up in the wing.

The ball connectors are really REALLY tight and had to be drilled out a bit to fit. I haven''t used these types of connectors before so we put lock nuts and locktite on everything and then some grease on the ball joints themselves.

I''ve had no problems with the control horns, I noticed the rudder one on one side it digs into the fin, but I still have more than enough rudder before it gets that far.

The only problem I''ve had so far with the .82 (apart from removing the huge grin on my face) is the vibration has made the washers dig into the wood and it had started working loose. It''s now got a metal plate to spread the load a bit better.
