It will be interesting to see how this airframe is going to hold up using a 4 stroke.
Greg

OK, here is an update on my Pass-Port.
Let me start by saying, in my opinion the Pass-Port is a good flying pattern plane
and NetBox has done an excellent job with product support.
Now..... let me tell you what I had to do to get it to stay together with the YS 4 stroke.
This plane is too flimsy the way it is shipped for a YS. You will need to add two bulk heads to
stiffen up the fuselage. (picture #1 & #2) #1 is a black honeycomb added between
the aft bulk head and the canopy, #2 is a piece of balsa glued to the top of the
factory horizontal bulk head between the stab tube and the front stab adjusters.
You will also see in picture #2 where I had to re-glue the aft vertical honeycomb bulk head
to the fuselage.(the glue did not hold up to the vibration) I also needed to
glue the stabs in place once I located where I wanted the incidence,
mine are set to 0 degrees. After every two or three flights I had to reset my stabs due to vibration.
(CA glue will not hold, I used aeropoxy from BVM. This glue is also good for a
reinforcement around any holes in the cowl that tend to crack) To reduce vibration I glued a piece of 1/8"
lite ply to the floor of the fuse just aft of the firewall.(picture 3# this stopped a drum sounding vibration)
After about 20 flights and the incidence of the wings were set,
(picture #4) I glued ply donuts to secure the wings in place.
Even after all that I have done to this kit it will come in under 11lbs.

Special thanks to Bryan Hebert for helping me trim this plane, without his help
I would not have such a nice flying plane. Bryan put about six flights on it
and made adjustments after each flight. Below is how he set the plane.

Wings are set to 1 degree positive
Stabs are set to 0 degree
CG is 1" 1/8th forward of the wing tube

With the CG located forward of the wing tube, I replaced the factory gear with the Bolly (straight) F3A long
carbon gear and wheel pants. This gear gives you better control for taxi. (the plane does not want to tip forward)
The gear is lighter but the pants are heaver. They are also taller than the factory gear.

I now have a builders kit of the Pass-Port, this kit will be built with a YS in mind. After the mods I should end up
with a bullet proof Pass-Port. (I am also having it professionally built by Jim Thompson of Baton Rouge, La.)

Jon

Glad to see you got that plane squared away, Jon! I had a feeling after holding it for the first time that it might require a little beefing-up.
