i bought a sr telemaster on floats at an auction a little while back, i am just getting it ready to fly and have a couple of questions if anyone knows. The floats that come with it are a touch over 1 # a piece, do you think that is acceptable weight? Do i need to do any mods to the plane, like an additional vertical fin? The plan will be powered by an os 61.

Thanks

Jon

The Telemaster can lift them, they are heavy though. Sounds good to fly as is...

I've got a SR telemaster with floats probably close to the same weight. I'm flying it with an old Magnum .80 four stroke. Plenty of power, takes off in about 25'. Your 61 is more powerfull so you should be fine.

I flew a Sr. Tele for years. Mine had an OS91FS, but it would take off at 1/3 throttle. The trick was getting it to come down. I had to put in an onboard glo to get the idle slow enough or there was sill enough power to fly forever in surface effect.

You're gonna like flying the tele.

It currently has one alieron servo in the center, do you think that is enough, or should I add a couple to the wings, if I add a couple to the wings should I make flaps? I am jsut looking for a nice eas flier,

Thanks

Man, I just looked at my spelling, I am sorry, I guess that is what you get from being sleep deprived from having a new baby in the house.

I used twin servos, but only a 4-channel receiver.(Y-harness) I just find that torque rods do not center accurately so I don't use 'em any more. I found myself wishing for flaps so I could steepen the glide. Don't like flaperons..too much adverse yaw and the chance of a tip stall at the worst possible moment.

I will probably change it over to 2 servos in the wing, and if I do then I may go ahead and cut the alerion so that I can have seperate flaperons in the wing, probably jsut 6-12" of flaperons.

Jim, I'm about to bash my Telemaster for floats and it looks like you enlarged the vert/stab. Did you regret it?

This is what i'm thinking about.
