Hi all,

Just a backyard basher here but I am tired of having 5 different radios for all my cars/trucks. I would like to keep the price around $100.00 but could spend more if need.
Here is what I think I need:
1) One radio that can run several different cars
2) Something that will last

Any suggestions?

I know $100 is your budget, I'm in the same boat as you. I have been looking for a radio that would run several cars and trucks and last me a long time, I really like Futaba's 3PM 2.4GHz! You'll never need to change channals or crystals again because know one will ever have your channel and it holds lots of model memory. I have seen them at Tower Hobbies for $189.99 for early April.

thanks for the suggestions, although the Futaba is way more than I need.

What is a good price for the JR XS3? Will it work with multiple models?

I'd like to do this too, but the receiver cost is kinda high for me to purchase multiple units @ $90 each....yikes!). Think I will wait until the price comes down, or my piggy bank gets full.....whichever comes first...LOL.

I just recently got the Futaba 3PM-FM radio and really like it: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGAG2**&P=7
The 2.4GHz would have been really nice, but I don't race so I didn't feel the extra cost of the radio and extra receivers was worth it...

I am really liking the JR series but are extra recievers pricey? I guess I can look, huh...? What is a good price for a used JR XS3 or JR XS3 Pro?

Well I just dropped $400 dollars on a Futaba 3PKS 2.4GHz FASST Tx Module/R603FS RX and to get another receiver (for my brushless Vendetta) is $99.99, so if your planning on running more than one RC car/truck you might get a crystal version is you tight on money! If you do buy the new 2.4GHz radio's be prepared to spend some money on that second receiver. The thing that cracks my egg is Futaba has an even better new radio, the 4PKS $499.99! The first picture is the newer 4PKS $499.99, and the second is the 3PKS $399.99!

Well sorry to hear you bought brand new. You could have saved some dough buy buying good used equipment. Same fof the recievers too. 50% off new price or more. I have bought genlty used equipment that looks new but for way less.

I really looked around for used stuff but it wasn't that much cheaper than the new, especially on ebay. Plus with the new I do get the JR 3 year warranty. I will look for used recievers though....got any, heh heh heh

I think going new for radio gear is good...I've seen what some people do to their radios, and you never know if it's one of these people that's selling one as being "gently" used....
