Cameron Martin qualified 6th in expert truggy and Dave Alberico just missed the A main in expert buggy due to motor issues. Matt Rodgers ran 3rd in the B main. Not bad at all.

By the way, June 5th is the date for the new electric 1/8 buggy. In case anyone wants to be on the list....www.casterracingusa.com. It was announced officially on neobuggy.net this morning.

I got one on order already. Should be awesome. I have never had a brushless anything. Will it come with everything you need to run it including battery charger and stuff? Sounds like the guys did good. Nice to hear people are being able to see the Caster's can compete.

The one you ordered is a kit where you will need electronics, motor, etc.... There will be a RTR coming out shortly thereafter. The one thing we did try to do was use as many ZX-1R parts as possible as people like you might want to run 2 different classes and if we can keep the skus all the same, it will be advantageous for hobby stores in regards to stocking millions of parts and for the customer to be able to interchange things. I know the chassis plate is different for sure and there will be some extra parts, but we wanted to make sure all gearing, suspension, steering, etc....parts were the same. It also helps keep production costs down and we can pass that on to the end consumer.

What is etc? LOL! I know nothing of Brushless. I am assuming I have to get what you said plus servos and that is all if you have a spektrum already right? Oh and a speed controller is it, and I will be good to go? Caster sells there own motor I saw but what about the speed controller and batteries, they got that?

That is a manufacturers prototype. Not 100% guaranteed to have that motor in it, let alone speculate what it is. The car is coming out in kit form at first, then RTR. Just to let you know.

Well ran my buggy today at the local race and did pretty good. No problems at all from the buggy itself, very solid. In the second qualifier I was leading with less than 45 seconds left and the glow plug took a dump on me, completely burnt up. In the B-main I led the whole main till AGAIN under 45 seconds left and out of fuel???? less than 7 minutes on the second tank and it sucked it dry, refueled and second place got 2 turns in front of me with 1 lap left and I caught up less than a turn behind him but too late. NO A-MAIN Besided that buggy ran awesome. Ran consistent laps all day and with very little crashes and of course beat up on some mugens and jammins! Here are some pics. Did not get any of me running because only friend I had there was pitting for me. Here are a couple pics in race clothes.

Just got a set of KMW big bore shocks in put on and should be having a Go .21 7-port to put in it by the end of next week! Cannot wait to see the difference. I love the way it handles and everything now but wanted to try out the big bores, not sure if I am going to like them though because it sits a little higher and cannot get the buggy lower like it was with the stock shocks.

Well, I am the proud new owner of a Caster ZX-1R rtr so I thought I'd put in my two cents. I bought the buggy yesterday (Saturday) morning, and spent all day breaking her in. I'm absolutely impressed with this buggy. First off, for $350 I really don't think there is a better buggy on the market in that price range. The engine is very solid, after six full tanks of fuel running rich to break it in, I have yet to so much as fry a plug. It stalled once after I tried to bring the RPMs up a bit after letting it idle for what seemed like forever, but fired right up again and kept going. I managed to get some drive time in and I swear this thing handles like a truggy. Nice and stable, yet very responsive. I did have one minor issue thus far, and although I'm not happy about the situation, I am happy with how it's been handled and what I'm going to say will say a LOT about the awesome customer service that Caster offers. One thing I discovered during the break in process is that the rear diff wasn't shimmed properly or something, and the gears are toast. There were little chunks of gear all over teh chassis plate. Not cool. This, understandably, upset me a bit since the enine hasn't even seen full throttle yet, and it's already on the bench. So I took it back to the hobby shop today to get it sorted out. Now, I'm lucky enough to live in Des Moines, IA. Hobby Haven has some of teh best staff ever, which is helpful enough, but Caster's warehouse happens to be less than an hour away. So tehy called one of teh guys from Caster to see if we could get the diff today (this is on a Sunday!) but they got his voicemail. They offered to keep trying and if tehy got ahold of him, tehy would call me back and let me know if I was making a trip to the warehouse or not. Mike (Hak) happened to walk in the door at that very moment, and without a second thought he offered to take care of the issue for me, no questions asked. Now, I was fully expecting to have to buy a new diff, adn I would have, but no. I will have a new diff delivered and installed before next weekend. No waiting weeks on end for parts to come in, no extra ding in my wallet. I can honestly say I never expected that and it's one more thing that makes me glad I took a chance on Caster. In the neantine, I took the opportunity to swap in my one of my high-torque Futaba servos for teh steering and the stock steering servo is now on the throttle/brake side. That really seems to make a difference. I can actually get the brakes to lock up real tight now - actually too much, so I'll need to dial them out a touch, and the steering is a bit more responsive. So once it's back in action it should be that much better. God I can't wait to finish the break-in and get her tuned...

I honestly hope that anyone who reads this understands you can pay a grand for one of the high-dollar buggies and that's great. But for under $400 you'll get one hell of a ride and a company that stands behind their product. Nuff said.

That is why I like the company so much. They work with you to help you with whatever problem you may have or not and even help you out on setups and everything. Nothing better than being able to talk to the "Big Dogs" at a company and get a response right away. Sucks hearing about the diff problem. Hakmaster told me about that and I am going to check into my RTR's I have in stock to make sure they are shimmed right before selling them.
