Nemesis FWD only...
I have another problem with my nemesis that i cant seem to figure out. It is only Front wheel drive now. I have take apart the tranny and all looks good. Then i took out the rear diff and i was going to open it but the damn thing snapped my screwdrive tip off. So i said F it. But the diff rolled smooth and felt fine. When i flip the truck over and press the gas i can see the front and rear shafts turning but the power dose not seems to transfer to the wheel. So do you all think the rear diff is the problem and i prolly need all the internals or something?

NOMOBUX is right, most likely it is the grub/set screw holding the drive to the input side of the rear diff. That is usually the problem!!

IS this it??? If it is i am pretty sure it was tight. If i flip it over and roll one of the rear wheels the front will start to spin...

Yes thats it, and if the factory did not get the screw lined up with the flat spot on the input shaft it will seem tight(with locktite holding it). Take it apart and see if the screw has been rubbing on the input shaft. But when you put it back together again be sure the set screw is lined up with the flat spot on the input shaft...
And to test before you take it apart hold both front tires with your feet(truck upsid down so you can see the drive shaft) Now grab both rear tires and rotate them together. You should be able to rotate the rear tires(with a little force) while the front tires are still. If you can look at the drive shaft to see if it is rotating too. If it is then the center diff is the problem(which I highly doubt) but if the drive shaft is NOT rotating then the rear diff slpping somehow, whether its the grub/set screw loose or the internals of the diff are knackered(as the English might say) Hope this helps |

I probably shouldnt tell anyone this but I had the same thing happen to me when my NEMESIS was new.I disassembled my entire truck and put it back together,never found a thing wrong.Problem was,all the torque from this beast had made light work of my tire glue[X(]Yea,I know,what an idiot.At least it gave me a chance to become familiar with my truck:DDont know why,but the fronts stay glued pretty good,but I have to check the rear quite often.The tires would feel snug to the touch,but under hard torque they would slip.

Thanks for all teh suggestions. I have yet to look at my truck to check to see if anyhting you all suggested would work. To mad at it really to care wheather it works now or later...

Only reason I'm keeping my locker out is hill climbing. I want to be able floor it and not flip over backward. Maybe I should start with the 300k for the center, only time and crashing will tell:D

When I hold the front wheels and move the back the clutch bell spins, I'm moving both rear tires in the same direction. If your drive shaft is moveing and your clutch bell isn''t your grub screw is out of place, missing or something inside the diff broke.

Nick, Did you happen to take notice to see fi the front drive shaft was rotating too?? If it is you will need to look at the front input drive cup to see if that grub screw is tightened down on the input shaft flat spot... or loose all together. But I would look at the front diff now. ok then the next Q. Is your center diff locked?? And if not, then your clutchbell should rotate! Now if your clutchbell spins then hold the clutchbell and try to spin the rears again with front wheels being locked up, then if the rear drive shaft still spins then you prolly need to take the tranny apart.

Hey Nick, No Problem thats what we are here for!! Now go tear your tranny apart, the tests I just described and the results tell me thatthere is really nothing wrong if your center diff is NOT locked. So it has to be the remainer of the tranny!!

Hey i took the center diff apart and made sure everything was tight and threadlocked. So maybe tomarrow after the threadlocker dries i MIGHT drive a tank in the nemesis without something breaking or going wrong...
