Status: offline 		the flybar is the key link to the stability of these coax machines. the shorter the flybar the less inherently stable they are and the more they will respond to input from the pilot.

Status: offline 		I'm not sure what you are comparing the speed too. It's really meant to be flown indoors and compared to even something like a hbfp, it's pretty pokey. That doesn't mean it's not fun.

Status: offline 		Hi i don't think a shorter flybar will make it move farward faster... don't you need longer servo horns so it moves everything a little more to make it fly in all directions faster?

Could it have been the 25 degree weather that caused it to feel slower?
maybe there was some funky swirly wind but i did not see any movement at all from the trees or the long grass i have by my pond?

Status: offline 		I forgot to mention that it is alot easier to mod the CX because the Servos face parallel with the heli and have a longer stock servo horn than the Lama does so you can move the linkage to the outer most hole for much faster movement.
The lama is the opposite. You have to buy a longer servo horn since the stock one was cut off so it doesn't hit the body, when you install the longer servo horn on the Lama you have to trim the body so it doesn't hit. Then it will fly faster.

Status: offline 		I have both. I assure you, they will not. The splines are different. Mind you these are not the digital servos. The horn you posted is for eflite. I think it's even an eflite part number.

Status: offline 		OK. The TBE is mostly GONE! I pulled off all the aluminum parts and put the stock plastic stuff back on. Then I adjusted, adjusted, adjusted and adjusted some more. Not quite perfect but at least I can control it. Still need some right rudder to keep from spining very slowly but that will come.
IMHO loose the aluminum! Got 2 sets for sale if you still want them!

That is a good question and one I do not have an answer too. I read that the horns from the non digital eflight were different from the digital. Just my 2 cents, but moving the rod out wont make that much of a difference at least from my testing. I have flown the thing a bunch out side and after having it snatched from me due to wind, I finally got a honey bee fixed pitch. I highly recomend it if your intent is to do more outside flying.

Remember, you don't really fly a coax, they kind of fly themselves. You just sort of point them. I guess it would be the same as the falcon 40 but I found the fp with a pair skids to be more robust, and possibly cheaper to fix. The giggle factor is much higher when you finally do get the hang of it.

I tried going from the lama to a blade cp and then a belt cp and then a king. It wasn't until the fp that I finally figured it out. I'm not trying to sell anyone on anything but you I personally never enjoyed flying the lama outside. It's kind of breaks into bits when you crash it.

Status: offline 		if i practice with a simulator a lot before hand, is the honeybee king FP safe indoors? I have read about how coaxials get boring because they are so simple to fly? I can fly it outside of course, but when you have temps in the single digits, or below zero it is preferable to stay inside. maybe a smaller FP would be a good idea.

Did you ever fly a heli before?
If not get a MCX by e-flight it will teach you alot and it's the most easy heli on the planet to fly.

Status: offline 		on second thought, i think i will go with a coaxial for starters. the only heli like thing i have ever flown, i wouldn't even call it a true heli, was one of those 2ch things that only goes up and down, and will only go forward it the nose is weighted, and then it is going forward constantly. i guess i should go for a coaxial first to learn basic controls. also, i will hopefully have a job by the time it is nice enough to fly outside regularly, and by then i will have enough experience to move up to something better. i guess i will go with a co-comanche for starters and then step it up to a FP, and then a CP.

My first heli, about 4 or 5 years ago was the Roto fly. What a nightmare that thing was. But at the time, I thought it was the coolest thing. Then I got the House Fly, a much better heli, that I could actually fly. Or should I say, it flew itself , but I did feel like I was doing something

Status: offline 		ok, i seem to have a problem with my swashplate on my dauphin. This picture shows what happened when I was just checking some parts for excess play.
the parts snap back together, but are they supposed to be "two" pieces? If this isn't normal, will just upgrade to the xtreme swash. Any problems with the xtreme swash I need to know about? Direct fit? i don't really have the budget for the rest of the xtreme rotor head parts. (I already have the xtreme taller inner shaft and their white blades).
