How much is it?? If it is not less than half the cost of an E-Sky, then I wouldn't chance it.

Greetings All,
Are any of you familiar with Dynam Vortex Version I ? It seems Dynam may be a division of Esky or very simular. I was wondering if this Dynam 4 in 1 would work on the L4?
Any input? http://www.dynam-rc.com/products/esc/3in1controller.htm
G.

Hey again G,

I got given two second-hand yellow Vortex 37 [they just call them "vortex" on that site] complete (and heaps of parts) a while back - just let me search through the bits for a 4in1 and try it for you.......

Peter
EDIT: Well, I've found them and they both have a 72MHz 4in1 - not a 3in1 like you linked!
Just to be diff'rent they have both motors in front of the axis - side by side - on first inspection, they look like Supreme motors
P.S. I don't think Dynam is connected to Esky - just some of their parts fit nicely!
P.P.S. I don't think the Dynam Rx would work with the Esky Tx - but the gyro, mixer and ESC parts should be compatible. As Wheelnut said, if they are really cheap - buy a Dynam 3in1 and try it out! (you will still need an Esky Receiver to go with your Tx)

Hi Peter,

The one I saw said 4 in 1 like what you have. The price is about $21.00 here in the US. That's what caught my attention. I think it would work. Maybe later on I will try one.

Thanks guys for your input.

G.

Hi G., and all

the price of 21$ in US caught your attention ... how about you get an original Esky 4in1 with 72mhz in China for 15.80$ ( at www.helibuy.com)

Hi G.

No, I didn't order there personally (I had just ordered 2 4in1's when I first heard about that site) but a few guys from another forum I follow did - and none of them reported any problems or concerns ...

so it looks legit to me, even if I can't back it up with personal experience ... which I will get at some point in time (in other words: I intend to order there myself, sooner or later .. )

Sven

Hi Sven

They have some decent prices on lipos and servos also. Let me know if you have any other interesting sites.

Thanks again

Greeting all,

Is anyone using Super Skid skids on the L4? How do you like them? Is there a weight issue? Any info would be great.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Hey again G,

I had one pair of superskids200 on my L4 and had no problems with them. But Brendon had a set of the same and didn't have any luck - splitting them near the screw holder. (He has since changed back to ultra-flex skids from BoomTownHobbies.com) It is just a matter of how hard and actually HOW you land/crash!
IMO they are both great. With the Super-skids200 there are no weight issues or anything like that. The four posts screw into the holes where the old skids were a press fit - if that makes sense??

Peter
P.S. There is a pic or two on the super-skids website (a silver L4 from memory )
P.P.S. Also below is a pic of my 200s before I installed them.....

i did indeed brake the superskids on the V4. I should also mention that I fly my heli very agressively and push it to the limits all the time. So if your a casual flyer then they would be fine.

I personally didnt like the superskids as it was a hassle to remove them all the time to swap out batteries. With the boomtown skids I can leave them on and just pull up the elastic band holding in my lipo. Its much easier.

I have had some seriously hard crashes with the boomtown skids as well and nothing happened to them.

So if i was you i would invest in some boomtown skids as I personally think there the best.

Thanks Peter and Brandon. I'm using the boomtown skids and I'm very happy with them. Just wondering if it was worth getting the Super Skids . I may try a set later on. It's not a need . Got a few other parts to get to bring my weak performing L4 with stock motors to life. Stock motors just don't cut it once you are use to the Xtreme motor I just added the navigation lights that I bought way back in the spring to one of my L4s. It has 5 lights. One being a search light and blinking tail light. I have red , green and clear on the canopy. It's flighing great with the 1000 mah lipos.

Hi Peter,
No need for the credit card mod. No problems what so ever installing lipos since making my own little mod to secure them. My computer died a few months ago and the one I'm using now is from 1998 LMAO! . Can't do a damn thing on it but look at web sites. I will try upload some photos when my son visits with his laptop. Hopefully Santa will bring me a new computer .

Hi Peter,
Yes, they have some good prices. The 4 in 1 and servos are great. Also they have a 1000 Mah lipo that is a little lighter in weight and diameter then the one I have now. Will probably order from them in the future.

Peter,

Go to www.helibuy.com then to battery section.
This is the one I want to try. 7.4V 1000mAh 20C Golden Li-Polymer Battery.

Update: Look under "Bulk" for even better prices on batteries and servos

I'm currently using Hobby King -Turnigy 1000mAh 2S 20C Lipo Pack. The Jst wires are way too long so I shorten them to reduce weight. I also shorten the motor leads from the Xtreme motors. It made a difference since adding the extra weight of the Nav lights.

G.

Hey again G,

Yip. You have to reduce weight any way you can - even 4g makes a diff. as I found out from running different lipos.
The flight characteristics (one would hope) have been maximized at the original AUW - so when you mod you have to be careful Much more with this smaller coaxial, than the larger BOL which I love.....

Peter
