welcomed.
you just remove the battery. then remove two screws from the bottom
Gear ( the one that turns the upper blades) and the shaft will slid out thru the top.
when you reasemble make sure the screws fall into the botom of the shaft
where there is a flat for the screws.

When I replaced the main drive gear for the B blades I had to take a small drift punch and tap lightly on the end of the shat.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I just got a great deal on the new Co-Comanche 2.4ghz for $99.00 at hobby-lobby.com
Getem before there gone. I can't wait. This is the one I got. I think the Sand colored one is pretty cool also.
I also have the Blade CX2 but I have been looking at these Lamas for a while. I am glad I waited, because I love the new look and the sale was a big bonus.

Sorry for the double post, but I don't want you guys to miss out if you are looking at getting one of these.

Sorry, to hear about that. I guess I have been lucky with them so far no problem.

I couldn't resist the price. So anything that could go wrong, the parts are dirt cheap. I will follow up with this order as we go along.

I bought a Lama V3 from them and have so issues and there customer service has been terrible. Found other places like US Hobby Supply that has GREAT customer service. If you do some checking on the forums you will see I am not the only one that is not real happy with Hobby Lobby.

Thanks for the advice on getting that gear apart, I finnaly just pride it off with the smallest flat screw driver I have. Next problem, I have read in the beggining of this thread that the alum. blade grips are crap. I bought the turbo kit witch is alum. and now that its installed; the main (top) roter will not track. I've been trying what it say in the book, twisting the blades, with a little better tracking. Is it posible the grips could be the prob? Another prob is the swashplate seems to be bogging down the motors, and I noticed its worse when I pull back and to the left on the stick. Do you think this is a defect in the swash or is this a common thing with a quick fix? This all started out fun and now its beging to get a little frustrating, of cource so was my plane and nitro at first that why I love this site so thats for any advice in advance.

Well, found a great deal on the V4, so I picked one up and went through the typical trials and tribulations of getting it setup and dialed in. As a first time heli pilot, I must say, I'm very impressed with the control on it and it's stability. On a fresh battery in calm conditions, it will hover beautifully.

After about a week of flying, I went ahead and ordered the Xtreme tail kit, canopy, and blades as well as the unbreakable skids from US Hobby Supply (awesome place to deal with). I painted some of the parts up and am very happy with the finished look. I also grabbed the extended shaft, but still manage to get blade striking on aggressive runs.

I picked up the CNC swash plate as well and had some problems with it. First off, it was binding on the anodized finish, which required some sanding down to clear. Then the damn thing split apart. I'm not impressed at all for a $20 upgrade and had to fall back to my stock swashplate. Without my receipt, I'm pretty much burned on it though.

If you do some checking around you will see that many say with E-Sky CNC parts it is a hit of miss situation. Even Michael from US Hobby Supply states this on another thread. With my Lama 3 in order to fly it I have to constantly make trim or 4 in 1 adjustments which I am not happy about but once again this is E-Shy hit and miss situation. Having to constantly made adjustments it takes a lot of the fun out of flying. Some say this is normal and others say different.

hackdroot, you can salvage that swash with some Loctite sleeve retainer. It's green and comes in some heli kits, but you can find it in any good auto parts store. Just use a tiny bit applied inside that bearing inside diameter with a toothpick and press it back together. You don't want any to get in where the balls are. HTH

I don't mean any harm, but it is wise not to quote replies with large pictures, it just takes up alot more space and it is pictures we already seen anyway.

Nice bird though.

Thanks for the comments guys, I have since removed some of the excess hardware from the tail kit (struts and tail rotor) to ease some weight. It gives a cleaner look overall as well. I'll try rejoining the pieces as mentioned

My only other MAJOR issue with this heli is the damn battery holder. Aftermarket batteries don't fit properly due to wire position, the small square of velcro is hardly enough to hold the battery during some bumps, and the battery is a major pain to insert and remove. Theres got to be a better way. Any ideas on the best way to improve it?

I guess I actually won't know until I get my Co-Comanche Lama Tuesday. I never had trouble with my Blade CX battery holder. I thought they were the same. It is true that the after market batteries are a little tight, but not overly so.

I received my Co-Comanche today. VERY NICE. Fast shipping!! Kudo's to Hobby-Lobby. and thanks to the guys that manufactured it. It flies great out of the box. I will however have to make a very small adjustment to the yaw. With the trim all the way it still turns very slightly the other way while in flight.

Fact, the CX2 battery is not a good fit for the Lama at all. At least not for the Co-Comanche. The battery for the Lama is shorter and fatter.

I have a question,
I just got a new Lama V4, it flies great except for one thing. When trying to hover, it either goes up very fast or drifts down slowly. It is not stable like my Blade CX2. Is there an adjustment that will help or is this a 4 in 1 problem?

Incase you were going to suggest the transmitter mod, it is not the notches in the transmitter throttle. I have the same notches in my transmitter for my CX2 and it hovers alot better than this Lama. The CX2 hovers almost perfectly.

I have had nothing but problems with my Lama V3 and have to constantly adjust the trims or 4 in 1. I even emailed Hobby Lobby about it since I bought it from them and they where not any help! This is why I will never order from them again. I spend more times making adjustments then flying my V3.

Ok, So I still have not been able to remedy the problem with the Co-Comanche either shooting straight up or falling with the touch of the throttle stick. So I called Hobby-Lobby. I got a tech on the phone within less than 2 minutes. We spoke momentarily and he is sending me a new 4 in 1 ASAP.
I have nothing but good things to say about their service so far. Yes it would have been nice if the heli didn't have the problem in the first place, but that is not Hobby-Lobby's fault.
I hope it solves the problem.

I called Hobby Lobby and all I got was a recording to leave my number and a brief description of the problem. They never called back. So I sent several emails and all they wanted was me to send back the helicopter and I pay shipping. They would not even discuss the problem. Some must have good luck with them as they are still in business but if you check there are many that have had nothing but problems with them like I have. I found a place that gives the best service I have seen in years so I will stick with him US Hobby Supply.

Where do you have the trim set for your throttle? If you have it in the wrong position it will do what you are saying.

I have noticed it is that way with other vendors as well. Some people have good luck with them and some have bad luck.

I played with the trim and it was actually a good way to get it to hover, but the problem came back the second I moved the throttle. One notch and it will shoot up and one notch down and it will fall. I will see if it is the 4 in 1 when the new one gets here.

Nice Helli 1morecrash. Where did you get the canopy? and while we are talking about canopies, will the CX canopy fit the Lama?

Did you try the trim all the way at the bottom? I know of one place that treats all the same and givers excellent service to all.

Yes, I have tried the trim at all positions. The problem is not the problem. It is either the 4 in 1 or the transmitter. I just had an idea. I could use my transmitter from my CX and swap the crystals with the transmitter with my Lama, they are both 72mhz. So then if the problem goes away then it was the transmitter. If it stays then it is most likely the 4 in 1.

I know quite a few vendors that are 100% reliable.
