interesting looks like a good battery. but my bats have a 15c discharge rate.
this one is 25 c. does that mean they have more power there fore discharge faster.
meaning less fly time. or am I missing something here.
I have the 900 from Deal extreme, and I can fly for what seems to me
for ever. ( well thats what the wife says anyways)
"you gona fly that thing forever" ( in a nagging voice)
but then again how many wifes have a heli chase them aroung the house

Yes, and no. 25C has more power and can discharge faster than 15C, but that doesn't mean it will or that your flight times will be shorter. Generally, you'll get slightly longer flight times with a higher C rating.
The higher C rating is capable of delivering power faster (can draw more amps through the battery) when needed. When it's not needed, the 25C battery simply won't be working as hard, or getting as hot, as the 15C battery. That will also increase the lifespan of the battery (you'll get more charge cycles out of it). However, if you do need the discharge rate of a 25C battery, and you only have a 15C, your motor won't be able to get power fast enough and therefore won't run as fast as it wants to.

A very simple analogy would be to compare it to a car, where the mAh of your battery is the size of your gas tank and the C rating is the diameter of your fuel line. Since fuel can flow faster through a larger fuel line, you can empty your tank faster. So, let's say that at 50 mph, your engine needs 1 gallon of fuel per minute. Both sizes of fuel line can deliver it just fine. Only the amount of gas required will be pulled through the fuel line, so having a larger line won't empty the tank any faster. But, to maintain your speed going up hill your engine needs 2 gallons per minute and the smaller fuel line can't pass it from your gas tank that fast. The engine will starve for fuel and not be able to maintain its speed.

Hi, newbie here. I've had a couple of the simple 2 channel copters and had so much fun, I decided to give a go with a 4 channel. Lots of people seem to indicate that a coaxial is a good beginners copters so I just got a Lama 4.

I already have a question about it. It comes with the fly bar unattached and the instructions don't say how to attach it. There is a small push rod connected to it and I see there are other push rods connected to the bottom blades. I assume I just carefully force the hole in the push rod over either one of the round knobby extensions on the upper blade.

Am I correct here?

#2. Do most hobby shops carry little tools to work on these copters?
#3. When making changes that involve unscrewing on parts, how tight should you screw things back together?

Thanks for any help, guys!
Mike

Hi.Should have been connected but you are right with forcing the small rod connection into the small plastic ball on the shaft. Either side as you have assumed, just do it softly. About the tools, its the case that most hobby shops will have them in stock. How much you tighten screw`s and the like is a matter of opinion and specific to what you are tightening. For the blade grips for example i dont tighten them too much as i want the blades to hold their position but not be to stiff(they need to move when you hit a wall). For other screw`s etc i would say to be firm but gentle(lessons in how to manage a woman!! hehe) and tighten them just enough for it to feel secure. Never apply too much pressure, remember that its mostly plastic!
Happy flying and get new blades,if you can the Xtreme or hardened ones. Thats always sound advice.

Like Gerald said the heli is plastic so IMO you only need to snug up the screw. Do not over thighten.
You need this http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLA261 and this http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLSV3

A couple of questions about the Esky Lama 4 transmitter 0404....

On the top upper right of the transmitter is a toggle switch that the manual says is a 'trainer switch', but they don't tell you what it is for, or how to use it???

On the botton right is four 'Servo Reverser' switches. My unit came with two in the 'normal' positions, and two in the 'Reverse' positions. Is this correct, and why have them?

The throttle has it's own 'trimmer' switch. What exactly does it do? Throttle is either 'off' on on to some point....

Thanks guys,
Mike

The same Tx is used for several Esky heli models.
The trainer switch is used when you connect 2 Tx's together in buddy mode so your experienced pilot can take over when you get in trouble.
The Normal/Reverse switches should be set properly for your model at the factory.
By raising the throttle trimmer you can eliminate some dead space at the bottom of the throttle stick throw and require less throttle to hold your hover, but raising it too much will cause your 4in1 to not arm when you turn on your heli. If you want to raise it, you probably won't want to go more than 1/4 inch or so. Otherwise, just leave it down.

Have you adjusted the proportional on your 4 in 1? If set properly lower and upper blades will spin at same RPM eliminating spin. Gain might need to be set also

Hey guys,me again. The Xtreme extended inner shaft 4 my v3 is shipped and on its way. Got one thing thats nagging me though. If the extended shaft is longer, wont that mean that there will be a gap between the lower part of the main shaft head(centre hub A) and the top part of the lower shaft(Shaft B).If thats the case the last bearing on the top of Shaft B wont have the top shaft head sitting on it. If thats a problem and anybody understands this complicated ****(better not get 6 channel heli`s!!!! hehe) can you confirm that i wont have any problems by having bought the Xtreme extended shaft???

There's a collar that clamps onto the longer inner shaft at the top of the outer shaft. Go look at the photos that 1morecrash posted on page 5 of this thread.
