I hope that Tam also makes a turbine kit to put a P-60 in the electra-ARF.
i would get one.

Kirk

As mentioned I would also be interested in a conversion kit providing the price is sensible as it would reduce the build time to convert this model to turbine use. I think converting this model may become popular if it becomes an easy task, as it is effectively a "mini bandit" for smaller turbine use.

Kirk UK

Kirk,
Is on the work bench. Hope next couple weeks should be ready.

Tam that is even better..
can you keep me updated by mail?
maybe we both have some idea,s about different installations..

Sandor,
Yes I'll updated of the turbine conversion and struts/wheels/brake for this Electra. I wouldn't fly my at 500' runway without brake for emergency stop.
I spend so much money at that end of the runway in the last 10 years. Maybe it just me with bad landing and can't greese the landing short.

Got the electra Today
Thanks Ali! prompt service.
as always Parcel force did not even bother to ring at the door and left it stand outside .

first thing i did was take it out of the box , and i must say this quality outdoes the previous Bandit arf i had..
VERY nice colour scheme , perfect quality , nothing broken.

now it is time for the turbine upgrade: Watts is for heat and depron not jetjocks..

i started with the help of jr lasercutting the prototpye bearers first in depron after that in birchwood
changed here and there and voila! finisched the first side.
i thought about a neat system to also use the full cover for the oleo and bolt it onto the trailing Pro-lynx oleo.
will do this tommorow.
also a good thing is that i selected the empty one , now i can make new bearers , so i dont think fueltanks are going to be a problem anymore.
however i think we need to have custom thrustpipes made
first back to the landing gear

about the weight
i am fortunate enough to have also the full landing gear.
i checked the difference in between them considering you need eather air or a servo to actuate the gear , ours is not so bad
i think on the full gear there will be maybe a 300-400 gram difference between the 2 of them.
btw i am exchanging the plastic flexplates with carbon flexplates
here are some pics

finisched the new flexplate today in carbon.
it is the same weight almost as the Plastic one as stock from BVM.
it will still give way if abused.
made first this morning the final design again with the laser in birch.
now all fitted like a glove , it was time to cut it in cnc.
as a final touch all will have a custom serial number with name to go inside the wing (maybe for anti theft?)

Hey Sandor,
Glad the kit arrived Ok. As always sorry for parcel force! Based on your love for their own individual style of service I have started with a new courier just for you from next week
Now stop messing around with the undercarriage ( As I have one for my Electra already fitted) and get on with the conversion and fuel tanks.
I flew my electra edf again yesterday and am pretty sure it will be ballistic with a P-60. we may even have to turn the power down a little !

no engine no bearers i need the engine only as a dead weight.
if you got something there just send it no need to run it.
but you are right if tam is putting efford , no use to go for a second one.
we are mailing now
