Is there an electronics whizz kid out there that can tell me how to lower the speed on the so called "superspin" on the tk-rx 13# mainboard.without interfering with the other functions? would settle for 1 track stalled and 1 at half speed or half speed on each... Cheers, Zippy
Does anyone know teh layout of teh sound chip of teh HL boards? Also do they know if the engine sound and the main gun/machine gun sound are from the same chip(same output pin) or seperate chips. As youkow the sound from teh Hl boards are rather soft, so the other day I found a cheap(less than USD$5) power amplifier and connected it btw the sound out put of the HL board and teh speaker. The engine sound is way louder now(as loud or louder than tamiyas) but teh firing of both guns are still atteh same audio level(drown out by the engine). Thus if I know if they are seperated, I can amplify it seperately.
Thats funny, as the engine sound is easy to amplify but teh main gun adn machine gun sound does not amplify at teh same time. Maybe I got crappy speakers that cannot take teh amplification of teh gun sound. Time to look for a working 3Watt speaker.
Perhaps you have a high-pass filter in the mix that's passing the high-pitch "noise" of the engine better than the low pitch sounds of the cannon/MG...

Re super spin, Nope, sorry the tk-rx 13# is made that way. Re 'sound card' , see above.
After poking around the sound chip, there is only one sound output. All other 'pins' are used for turret / gun movement, and LED flashing. If the pin is not connected, its not used. As a matter of 'dull' interest, when the canon fires, [k] button, the engine sound is not requested for that time. The on board amp is a little 1w stereo device used in bridge, so should be able to produce 4w. I know it doesnt seem like it, but it is strapped to a little speaker stuffed in side a small plastic box then stuck in side the hull!

A better speaker can help some, here is one that I used on a customers Super Pershing and it is the same one that I am using with the EL MOD BLaster II sound system. It definately gives the tank a throaty sounding engine, its got some growl to it now!

Hi Does the speaker come as part of their kit?
Yours Simon M.
Yes, from RCTankwars.com, if you buy the Blaster II, you get that speaker with it! I am not sure what EL MOD Germany is providing becuase their boom box was out of stock!
The amp I am using just states power amplifier, it maybe that its a high pass filter, if that is teh case I need to find a low pass filter. I have a 3W speaker but for some reason it makes no sound when I connect it up, maybe the speaker is dead when I bought it. Looks like a i need to make yet another trip down to the electronics shop to get a new one.

You can test the speaker by hooking up a flashlight battery. Hold one lead to one side of the battery and quickly touch the other lead to the other battery terminal and you should get a scratchy sound. DON'T leave it hooked up on both ends.
