jaron_denson -> SHould I keep replacing stock front spindles or upgrade? (4/1/2008 5:11:58 PM)

Hey everyone, I have an lst2 with the rpms and lunsfords all around. And of course that means that the next weakest thing down the line is the carriers and the belcrank(both are stock). Should I upgrade my carriers or is it going to take it out on my belcrank. And If I do both is it going to just kill my servos? If I install more servo saver clips will this cure or aid my problem of breaking spindles? I am happy because instead of breaking $10 swing arms, im breaking 7 dollar spindles, but Id rather not break anything if possible. Thanks.

Hey 2dmax, will I be replacing my stock belcrank shortly after. It also appears that you have an alloy c-hub as well. Was that necessary?

2DMaxLST!! -> RE: SHould I keep replacing stock front spindles or upgrade? (4/1/2008 5:58:38 PM)

I like GPM bell cranks.

C-hub replacement is not necessary, unless you use the 15 degree caster losi version.

Note pictures from Muggy but same thing

Could you post some links to these web pages? ( New Era and gpm)

Thanks Greg

I think GPM is the same as Chin Ngai, Hong Kong. The only place I have seen the GPM bellcranks is on the bay, but I think A main had them too at one point (they no longer list them I just checked though they do show up on a Google search). There are two sets currently on the bay. Pretty reasonable price too.

anymanusa -> RE: SHould I keep replacing stock front spindles or upgrade? (4/2/2008 3:59:30 AM)

cool pictures. Sorry I have nothing else to add, I'm new to this hobby.

jaron_denson -> RE: SHould I keep replacing stock front spindles or upgrade? (4/2/2008 4:45:19 AM)

Hey 2dmax, is there any advantage to the 15degree tilt, or is this to correct for the geometry of the lower stance of the muggy?

2DMaxLST!! -> RE: SHould I keep replacing stock front spindles or upgrade? (4/2/2008 4:58:04 AM)

The additional caster can increase on power steering, they really helped the muggy, I use them on the LST with the Muggy shocks and towers but on a normal LST I'm not sure they are worth it, they can decrease initial turn in. They are farther down on my racing setup list than several other items. :D

Thanks, I take pictures of all my setups. :D

2dmax Thanks for the info and the pictures. I will get the new era spindles, and keep the stock carriers. If I upgrade the spindles and the bellcrank to gpm is all that energy from a bad landing going to destroy my servos? Should I put more servo saver clips in if i do upgrade both the spindles and the bell crank? Or is it better to let something else break?

Here's a photo of their shopfront in Hong Kong, more upgrades inside than you can imagine, for every car, buggy, truck imagineable.

Once you have Lundsford Ti turnbuckles,GPM bell cranks and New Era Knuckles the natural week point is the turnbuckle pivot balls popping off. That rarely happens to me, every few months I just put on new rod ends and pivot balls. A competent turn marshal will pop a pivot end back on the ball for you...keeping you on the track and in the race, that's my theory anyway. :D

I run either stock servo savers with a extra spring or 2 or Associated for my Hitec's and a extra spring or 2. :D

jaron_denson -> RE: SHould I keep replacing stock front spindles or upgrade? (4/3/2008 4:36:20 AM)

I was checking out e-bay, and I can't find anything that specifies that the part is made by gpm. Any recommendations? And what associated servo savers should I get?

jaron_denson -> RE: SHould I keep replacing stock front spindles or upgrade? (4/3/2008 4:49:56 AM)

EBAY ITEM

Is this it?

nicotram -> RE: SHould I keep replacing stock front spindles or upgrade? (5/5/2008 10:18:10 PM)

Hey guys, what do I need to update my LSTs' spindles/carriers? Can I use the LST2 parts or should I stick with the LST specific upgrades. should I use these New Era LST Knuckle and these GPM spindles? or LST2 specific stuff like these Losi spindle and these New Era Knuckle. I just want to make sure they wil fit without any other modifications because I just put on the RPM A-arms. Thanks!

jaron_denson -> RE: SHould I keep replacing stock front spindles or upgrade? (5/6/2008 6:21:43 AM)

If you put on the rpm a arms then I would suggest that you buy the lst2 spacer kit for the rpm a-arms and get the new era steering knuckles. As for the C-Hubs I still have not had to replace the stock ones and I am launching way over head. You will have to get 2D's opinion on the 15 degree tilt steering hubs. Supposedly better turning but I don't know. I like the new era knuckles they kick a$$. I also run the gpm bellcrank the Bad ass creations center link 2.0, with lunsford tie rods= fun and no issues. Still need to get the associated servo savers though....Okay done.... Thanks Killer hobbies....

nicotram -> RE: SHould I keep replacing stock front spindles or upgrade? (5/6/2008 5:34:29 PM)

so, Jaron, You're talking about the LST 1 right?

jaron_denson -> RE: SHould I keep replacing stock front spindles or upgrade? (5/7/2008 5:04:42 AM)

No I am talking about the lst2. But since you have rpm arms all you need is the RPM spacer kit and a stock pair of lst2 c hubs to change from lst1 over to lst2, and then run the new era steering knuckles for the lst2, this will take care of the front. Then if you want to take care of the back order up a stock set of lst2 rear spindle carriers w/ c-hubs and then you are at lst2 specs for the steering. But maybe you like the adjustable toe on the rear so you may want to leave it lst1 style back there. Thats what I am saying, run either 8t tierods or lunsford titaniums.

nicotram -> RE: SHould I keep replacing stock front spindles or upgrade? (5/8/2008 1:46:20 AM)

Cool, thanks for all your help!

ARDV8 -> RE: SHould I keep replacing stock front spindles or upgrade? (5/9/2008 9:50:56 AM)

GPM are producing knuckles for the LST2 now, but they won't be available until end of June.

I emailed GPM and have ordered a set - $22 plus $10 shipping to UK.

Should be good if they are as strong as the bell cranks.

When I get them I'll post back.
