I am finally ready for the maiden. The wind is up today so maybe Sunday. I am still waiting on the hub but can fly it with the prop nut. I am getting really pumped. If this thing flys as well as the 52" I will be happy. If it flys better than the 52" I will dance a little jig at the field.

I also noticed I must like the covering jobs with all right angles. There is not one curve on the 67" or the 52". Oh well they should both be easy to see.

Set up is Saito 1.25 ,16x6 scimitar series prop. 3305 on rudder,3010s on aile,3152s on elev. 6V Nimih pack and 8ch Futaba RX. I used the supplied pushrods but cut the "Z" of and soldered a clevis. The servo end has Du-bro arms and ball links.

The covering is solid yellow UC. Dark red, insignia blue, met green and trans yellow MC. The gear is composite from OMP painted to match. I will do a flight report after I wring it out a bit.

I have the 52" Fusion and the 67" Fusion. The 52" flies really good.....A really nice .40 size profile. The 67" is unbelievable! Hands down the best 3D plane I've ever flown plus flies nice smooth pattern lines. Mine is flown with a YS 110 and APC 16x4W. Your Saito 125 should be great as well. Now just remember as you're grinning from ear to ear after the first flight.........THE 80" FUSION KITS ARE SHIPPING! HA!

Good luck on the maiden!

Looks great Dave! Easy to see is an understatement!
On another note, did you use 1 or two elevator servos on her and how did it balance with the setup you used? Thanks.

I used two elev servos. I slid the engine back quit a bit. I did not want to take the velocity stack off the carb. So I rounded out the fuse enough so about 1/2 of the stack is recesed. Even with the stack off I would have to round out some. The carb opening would be very close to the fuse side. So I left it on and did the best I could. I will put a pic up later. I am using a 5 cell NiMih pack and have it in the trailing edge of the wing behind the hatch opening. With this set up my CG is 8-3/8" back at the root from the LE. This looks to far back to me but the book says 8" to 8-1/2". So I am in the range. Also notice I have no spinner and a very light prop. My 52" flys better when the fuel is less than half. If this 67 is the same I may cut a hatch in the fuse and move the battery back. Only time will tell.

haha, looks like the snake has shed its skin for a shiny bright and new skin!
Hey Dave that sure looks really nice. You should be proud of a job well done. When you stripped the ARF how did the build look underneath? Did you go ahead and check it out while she was naked? hehe. Run some thin CA around anything you don't like. I do this on all my ARFs regardless of what brand. I'm going through a 102" QQ Yak right now getting it ready for my son to fly. Almost done!

Mike I did go over it front to back. The plane was put together very well. There were a few soft area. The ply circles that reinforce the anti rotation pin holes needed more glue along with the two rings with the blind nut installed. There was also a small gap in the ply in the front of the fuse in front of were the canopy are is. Other than that it was very nice and I am picky. I did run some thin here and there but not becouse I thought some areas needed it. I just thought it would be foolish not to while it was naked.

Thanks for a great product.

David
