Ever notice when tower offers higher discounts their prices go up? For example last week the revo was 504.99. Today its 514.99 because they are offering higher discounts.

I stopped buying from Tower after they forbid Amain to stock OS Engines, Futaba, Great Planes, etc. However, now, apparently some of those companies have been brought back to Amain. I now buy my stuff off ebay anyway. Tower is way overpriced in my opinion and raising prices just because of discounts defeats the purpose of a discount, that's freakin disgusting.

Tower and horizon both exercise a lot of heavy handed competition due to the fact that they own or have major stock in most of the major manufacturers. It's the nature of the beast. Price wise I find tower fine in general, all the major retailers seem to be within a few dollars most of the time.

The hobby industry is a lot like the media I find, when you start doing research you realize how few actual companies there are.

True that, it's unfortunate though how stuff goes down sometimes in the case of Amain...

compare towers prices to my lhs's prices and they're amazing. Tower has the XRS esc for around $45. My lhs has it for $62. tower has the mrc 977 for $95-100. my lhs has it for $130

Everything goes up in price every new year.

There are 2 types of year - Jan 1 & Fiscal Year. Fiscal Year is exactly 1 year to the start of a company - just like a birthday.

I find a lot of sellers on ebay have prices that are higher than Tower's prices (new items) and that isn't including the seller's outrageous shipping & handling charges to cover the fees.

If you want to complain about prices, move to Europe and pay 2x as much and that isn't figuring in the currency exchange rate. For example - something cost $3.50 in the US, I would have to pay 7.00 Euro ($10.95 US)

Bottom line is this: If you don't like it, shop some where else.

i'm alright with Tower's pricing. they seem to be the "standard" when it comes to prices, in that there appears to be roughly an equal amount of merchants charging more as there are charging less. my LHS seems pretty competitive with Tower, but they are sometimes hit and miss. a Duratrax Evader EXT is $119.99 at Tower, and $119.99 at my LHS. Michigan sales tax on something that price is slightly less than Tower's shipping, so i'd be saving money (like $1) buying it locally. on the other hand, a standard servo, which is under $10 at Tower, is nearly $20 at my LHS.

I have been with Tower for almost 20 years now from when I started into the hobby. I am definitely a loyal Tower customer. They have one of the best websites and most information of any other site out there with no competition. A-Main is GREAT, don't get me wrong but they don't have 1/100 of the information Tower offers. Tower's info sheets are so helpful for product specs.

Sometimes I pay a few bucks more at tower, sometimes a few bucks less. Everything is Zen.

I too have been a customer at tower since starting this hobby in the mid 80's. I have recieved nothing but top notch customer service and great pricing. I am a patient personn for the most part so I wait for deals and sales if needed. Never had any issues with them pricing wise.

First of all longhair I wasn't complaining I was just posting an observation. Secondly before you start complaining about what things cost in Europe you need to compare many things. A loaf of bread might cost twice as much there as it does here but I have a feeling that wages are much greater for comparative jobs in the U.S. Also what are insurance rates compared to the US. How much are taxes Etc. I could go on. I think you will find things aren't that expensive compared to the U.S. if you compare apples for apples.
Have a nice day!

I'm from the US originally and lived here for about 5 years.

The wages are the same number wise, the taxes are 41% and the insurance is supplied by the employer - just like when I was in the US.
