I finally had a good jump!

After about 10 jumps where the chute didn't open properly, I re-strung the chute according to what I learned here:

http://books.google.com/books?id=2PopFBjLZV8C&pg=RA1-PA289&lpg=RA1-PA289&dq=r/c+parachute+line+lengths&source=web&ots=lcmWBdv-5_&sig=d2nRYEthe6kZ3ghLcTn-ktGPsXg&hl=en#PRA1-PA325,M1

This time, the chute opened and inflated. I think I need to bring the front of the chute down a little, though, because the chute collapsed a little every time my dad tried to steer it (I flew the plane).

On the next jump, the chute didn't open and he landed about 40' up in a tree. Shortly after that, my dad flew his paraglider into a different tree, again about 40' up. I went home and got my bow and and arrow with a golf ball on the tip. I shot a string over the chutes and pulled them down with only minor damage.

Hi brad,

Sorry to hear your bad luck with the chute openings (or lack of)

Been there done that.

Glad to hear that you have it working better.

You didn't mention if your skydiver and chute were home built or purchased.

By the way are you a beginner at R/C Skydiving or been doing it for a while?

I'm a long time R/C'er, beginner jumper.

I sewed my own chute and built my own jumper.

I uploaded some photos. I'm new on this board, so I don't know if they will show up or not.
