Mike,

The CA itself will seal the fiberglass and if you build it up you can sand it and paint it. Its acrylic so your actually sanding plastic and painting it no different from any other typical resin.
I have run auto bailers on the KOS/Segad and they work great but do contribute to faster sinkage. Usually the boat will sink stern first so as soon as the bailers are under water they seal up and the boat will sit there a little longer.

Your logos look great. You know you can also print those to water slide decal material and clear coat that. Looks great and its easier than vinyl letters.

Chris

Does the KOS hull have auto bailers?  If not, is it reccommended and if so what brand?

Thanks,
Steve

PS - I remember reading that someone added extra water outlets, any pics?

No it doesn't come with auto bailers. I added 2 to mine and got them from Bonzi sports. I like them since my boat is in rough chop and tends to catch alot of water. Yes I added extra water outlets look at the scale exhust in pic.

I have a question for you, Why do you have 4 water pic-ups on this boat? at the most you should only need 2 ! the rest is only extra drag.

So called Auto Bailers have a more fitting name that being Auto Sinkers. Even if the boat dies right side up they always allow the water to flood the boat, for what ever reason the check ball lets the water go past and the boat is full of water and sitting low with radio box submerged. The only type that auto bail and don't flood are the reverse pickup style that have a hose connected that loops above the water line and then down to the lowest part inside back of boat and sucks the water out.

The 2 pick up flow to the dual engine head inlets the 2 from the rudder flow to 1st exhust manifoil and 2nd exhust cooling ring on pipe. I didn't notice any difference in less speed with inlets draging boat down. There's claims of 3mph slower. There might be a fraction slower and that's not enough to notice by sight. I will test when I get my gps with and without water inlets draging.

Looking for replacement plugs. What NGK plug would be the equivalent for a stock motor?

I 2nd the NGK CMR7H and get them at a local auto parts store.  They may have to order them but they should be abou $3.50 or lower a plug.

I run those plugs in my HPI Baja 5T!

Kewl thx Loco and MD.

Now I gotta figure out how to have the transmitter work to make the boat shut off when getting to shoar. Does anyone know the setting with the stock digital transmitter that would allow this to happen? Push forward for brake(kills motor). I will be getting the marine Spektrum once I hear a few reviews.

The engine kill function is covered in the manual if you have it handy.

Anybody with experience with the new marine receiver for spectrum

I have a DX3R but it looks like it will only work with the newest DX3s and even if you have an older Dx3s, you have to send it back for 3-5 weeks for a $50 upgrade to use the new marine transmitter.

Any experience anybody can share would be appreciated as I decide on a solution for a radio for my KOS.

I would get the FASST but it seems to be pretty expensive compared to the Spectrum system.

Unfortunately after less than 20 minutes of use the O'rings in my exhaust have gone, resulting in a very loud noise! Not very happy at all.

I now need 2 new o'rings, but what kind do I need to get, do they need to be special high temp ones and where can I get these from in the UK?

highly dissapointed that this has happened so quickly!! Any help would be great cheers

Wow that's cheaper than we can get it in £ in the UK! It's a shame Venom had to put the price up so much on these.

There is a shop that's got 9 of them in here and they have not sold one of them at £800! They used to be £625, so it's quite a hike in price.

And as for value for money, I've not been that impressed so far with 2 cracks in the hull, cracked windscreen AND now after just 20mins of running the 2 o rings that hold the manifold into the tuned pipe have completely deteriorated so I can't use it untill I sort that out either.

I was aware that there were some problems on the first style of exhausts these came with, something about the rubber tube splitting, but it looks as though they still havn't sorted it with this new design either. Anybody know where I can get 2 high temp o rings from?

Has anyone used an aquarium pump to help break in their engine before heading to the water?  If so, how many GPH should the pump be able to do?

You should NOT break-in your motor on a stand with out a load on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The proper way to break in a motor is ON the water!

I use an aquarium pump just to adjust my high and low speed needles for a few minutes to keep the engine cool so I find having one very helpful.

I didn't buy anything special. I just bought about a $35 set up from the local pet store. I drop the pump part in a 5 gallon bucket of water and then I hook the other end to my water cooling line. It lets me run the engine safely for a short while and avoids overheating.

Excellent idea!!

Another question, I must have missed this topic.  I have the 67x17-3 prop, what do I need to do to make it fit the stock driveline?

Thanks,
Steve

That looks like a great idea.

Have you been able to keep the hose pressure low enough to work well?

I just worry about the small size of the cooling lines in the boat compared to a hose.

If it works well, I will definitely try it because getting out the aquarium pump is kind of a pain and I always have the hose ready out back.

The hose fitting setup works great you simply turn it down till a 6" stream comes out and all is well. Actually the only part that really needs breakin on these engines is the ring as all the bearings are ball and rollers which don't require much if any breakin. Most engine builders now agree that a ring can be seated very well with bench run time at varied lower RPM's.

you can either buy some 3/8 by 1/4 inch copper tubing and shimm it, or you can buy some 1/4 in hardware for the boat, www.aeromarinerc.com is where I got my stuff.
