Both leads from the kill switch came off. So if I just tape up the 2 wires off the motor so they cant make a connection, Im good to go?

There should be one coming off the coil with a quick connect on it simply unplug that one(be sure the clear rubber proctector over the end of the quick connect stays intact and covers the bare end) and remove the piece of wire that connected it to the switch. The other wire is likely under a screw on the engine just clip it short or remove it entirely.

I made a great score on a Venom boat yesterday!
it has about 1 1/2 tanks through it when I got it, I ran it today and only managed 30mph per my gps..
sounds like it is not reving out?
my LN and HN are at 1 1/8th out and I live at 5,000ft elevation..

This has just become my favorite boat!

well the time has come to get rid of this boat.
i have had a for over a year and i can not take no more.
ALL I CAN SAY IS BUYER BE AWARE. it has taken so much of my money and its not gonna take anymore.
it cracks open with the slightest bump and i know of ppl in AUS who can say the same. the gelcoat is weak and everything that is on the boat continues to fall off.
this is my last post on the venom chat. you guys at venom really need to get it together. for the price of this boat you guys really need to give the ppl buying your products something better... i know there will be ppl saying that your products are of reasonable quality, but in my case and of others that i know and others that i've read on this very forum, im sure im pretty safe to say we did not think that your products were not of reasonable quality..... im sticking with aussie made.

I am not posting this as a attack on anyones boat or what they are doing to make theirs better. I think that is great.

Just think it is pretty sad that most of these RTR companies couldn't do a lot better in the quality department. Many a would be lifetime boater has been turned off never to return because of the bad expirience they had from a RTR. A lot of this they could easily do with some decent enginering and a nominal amount of added expense. They know they have definite dependability issues and choose to ignore those things.
Warehouse probably has the highest quality mass produced RTR's on the market.

Gotta agree with you there, danielplace. WHH is top notch for RTR.
I've had my fair share of problems as well with the KOS. But on the other hand, part of the fun in ANYTHING R/C is upgrading to make it better. Mind you I havn't had any hull problems yet, but then I did add extra fiberglass all along seams and stringers the in this hull. Also redid the radio tray, throttle and steering linkages, teflon gaskets on the engine, rewelded the muffler, and use a quality silicone pipe coupler with hose clamps. It works great now. I do understand that for the money, one should not deal with the amount of problems some have encountered. However, dealing with the guys at Venom has been a totally positive experience for me. Since some of their customers are overseas, I can understand how some problems might be hard to correct as shipping costs are getting nuts these days, and their could be a language barrier as well.
Im a satisfied customer of Venoms. This boat is a great platform for anyone with basic "hobby" knowledge to dive in to. A little ingenuity and a few $$ can really make this boat perform the way it should.

67x17x3, or 67x19x3 depending on how much power you have, the x17 will work great with the stock motor, I recommend the x19 for the sikk or kwa motor

VENOMOUS, I have a KOS 26 cc and after about 8 or 9 runs in my boat THE RECOIL BROKE. The plastic pin where it engauges to the engine. I called and was told it was out of wartiney. So I ordered 2 of them so i called to see if they were shiped. I get a RECORDING saying your closed. I realy NEED THEM or i would not have oreded them. They sgould have told me about closeing. Alos I think the recil is realy week. T should not have broken after 8 or 9 runs. The engine does start easey so that is not thr problem. The ZENOHas I have never broken the recoils.
Thanks Tom

I guess Venom does not care they just take your money and that all they care about. The enging is onley as good as the weakest link and that is the RECOIL.

So far I like 67-17-4B for smaller ponds or short course. 3B seems to cavitate too much for me.(53.4+mph)
70-14-3B for bigger ponds or oval (54.7mph)
68.5-15-2B for bigger ponds and speed (56.4mph)
Stock motor, dual pu rudder, 1000ml  fuel cell center mounted, zero friction bushings, stock carb. w/o choke
RPM pipe set at 13.25"( that's as short as I can get needs custom header pipe), veri-cool head installed.  GPS is mounted where gas tank was.
Only ran 3.5+ gallons so far. Have had vertualy no issues. Cracked the tail on a sand bar, 360 roll over at 52+mph busted out the wind screen
also the old gas tank broke loose after a 3 tank beating on 6-8" chop.
I like it

string is gonna break no matter how you look at it, it happens, if you get the steel adapter for the pull start, replacing the string is easy and cheap comared to a new pull start

Does your boat lean to the right at speed? Mine feels like its going to roll over in any more than small chop, I am going to try trim tabs to see about leveling it out at speed, Didnt used to to it as bad until I moved the tank to the middle.

buy it, throw a big prop on it, and gps it, I think it will be too much power for this boat, but Give it a shot and let us know the results. There are stockers out there runnin close to 50mph, if you add another 3hp, The boat is going to haul balls, and will probably flip if not trimmed properly.

Voodo props " Cat's Ass" is the props name for the 4B.
Yep if I go from 0 - WOT she lifts rolles  like a drag boat .But high speed is fairly flat, may add a little wieght.
GPS is 5oz+ so that helps, ajusted prop depth helped even more.
Cut some blade from the prop that also helped. Still leans but not to bad.
Not a racer very unstable at speed in the corners. 2wd vs 4wd.  Going to try a Skeged strut to see if that will settle it down some.
If you had a heat of these that would be fun maybe there is a "scale" class I don't know?.
My first GPS reading after break in was only 39.9mph. Then comes the tuning now run low 50's no problem.
With the set up as is now I cann't seem to break out of 56mph range.
In rougher water straight line out does the race cats but loose big in the corners.
prop set 2 degs neg  and rudder tucked in 2.5 deg
I don't think people give the stock motor proper break in or they  just dump it B4 it realy wakes up like after a gallon Plus.
All the fun is the tinkering anyway. So have fun.

did you go down on the prop depth or up, I run the blade about level with the sponson, thats where it seems to like it best, and have the prop pitched about 2 degrees up to keep the nose out of the water.
