Hello to all. I have meant to post pictures of my 73 Mustang ,especially considering I have driven the so called "Fat Boy" since 1974 starting out on a rear of the lot 1972 Mustang Coupe mark down due to a two pronged attack,"The Energy Crisis and a Looooong scratch down the right side of an other wise perfect less than 2 year old factory applied mirror type finish in Dark green metallic code 4Q (as I later found out) moving right to the hood lifted it and saw a V-8;it sure was not the 250 C.I. In line 6 powered 69 stang I was trading. for it because the sales man had to say:do you want this car?I had the car delivered that evening and I took it down the pike and WOOOOOOOOOOOOO; Yawn... women waiting... Well to finish up the story:I mentioned to a friend while atanding in the parking lot next to the new ride that it had rather impressive power...He said pop the hood he looked at the air cleaner, but the C.I. sticker had been removed,so he checked the spark plug-Bingo it was a 351 Cleveland.

Guys knock me all over the place#%$*&*^(* but still I say I kept a 73 Challenger 6 Pack in my rear view mirror with him
intent on putting his tail lights in my face>>>>>>>>>>mo way ray

These days I still drive a 73 which is now an aging 10 year old first time restoration.

OOOHHHHH Yeah My brotherinlaw had a 74 mustang with a 351 cleveland in it . Auto on the floor with stall converter and inline brake lock . Ram air induction Holly headers ect . Hood scop was so big that you couldnt see the right front hood because of it . Awsome car . We where doing 145 when a state patrol went the other way . Being a small town and a few years back we did the only thing we could . Pulled over and waited . A few minutes later up pulls the highway patrol . OUt pops JD Browing (Real name ) then the capt for this area . He walks up and says well boys do you know how fast you where going ? Yes sir . Pop the hood off lets have a look . Yes sir . Because we pulled over and new the Gentelman he let us off with a warning and we promissed not to ever let him catch us doing that agine . Loved the car . Ill dig out some pictures and send them out .

Thanks for the memories. I had a '73 Cougar that I drove for 5 years fresh out of high school. It was 351C/C4FMX auto. I did a lot of work on it. Intalled '71 quench type 4V heads. These were from a 351CJ. Street Dominator intake. Headers and a mild cam. The problem was the 4V heads. The ports and valves were so big it had no bottom end. From 3,000 up hang on. From idle to 3,000 it was a little soft. In town it was a lot of fun. From a roll I could pull it down into first and stand on it. It would pin you in the seat pretty good. The factory tach only went to 6,000. I would shift it when the needle hit 6,000. The valves would float just past that anyway. Lots of fun!!

Cool and I voted for him and ate jelly beans...

A neighbor back in the day late 73/early 74 had a 1073 White Cougar with a 351 C - @ the time. I allways liked it and remember a 'Lola' (real woman) that lived around the corner and drove one...yada yada yada i

Richard, Lola sound like your version of the American Graffiti girl. White Cougar/white T-bird. I can see the similarity.

I wanted a mustang ever since I was 5 years old, now when I finally grew up I drive a Chrysler Concorde (still want a mustang though)!!
And hey ramcfarland if you decide to sell your for cheap, hit me up, I would love to buy it if I could afford it (college sucks it costs way too much, I just dread the day when I get out an have to start paying the college loans)

I could'nt help but post a pic. of my 70 428 Mach 1. I spent more time on this cr this past summer, than I did flying. It's a work in progress, but it is nice to see pcs of other Mustangs. This is a fun project that my sons and I are working on together. Take care, Capt. Winters

Hi Supercharged, I am still working on the body work. All panels and doors are finished. I had to replace the original hood due to the previous owner drilling vent holes under the hood scoop. I could not understand why someone would do such a thing on this kind of car. I have re-furbished all interior parts and am just waiting to get the paint work finished up as money allows before installing. I am looking forward to the day I can take my 4 young children out for a sunny spring road trip. I will post more pics as work progresses. Capt. Winters

Need to keep that Mustang dry if you don't want it to rust out again.

Water + Mustang = RUST

Mine stays in the garge 100% of the time it's not being driven. I put way too much time in ito it to let it deteriorate again.

Thank you, Shouter and Fullmax, I've started the paint, I'm going with Grabber Orange, as the original color was Bright Gold Metalic, I just could not bring myself to repaint with that color. I will post more pics. when I start the clear. I would love to see more Mustangs, so post away guys, lets see your cars. Capt. Winters

Nice car Capt! I am going to be starting restoring a 69 Mach 1 this fall. Mine only has the 390FE though :-\ Mine was that same champagne gold color as well! It is going to look very similar to yours except I am going to have it in Champagne gold still with those rims, louvers, and four headlights.

Hi Mackey,Post some pics when you start your Mustang. I'm a little behind on posting pics, but will get some up soon. I always liked the Grabber Orange Boss 302 when I was younger. I've had 5 Mustangs over the years, this is my second Mach 1. Seems like these things can take forever to get finished. I'm going on 8 years . Take care, Capt. Winters
