There will be a Fly-In at Lowe's Motor Speedway on Saturday April 12, 2008 starting at 9:00 am.

We will be putting on a R/C Pylon Racing demonstration during the fly-in. At the minimum we will do Club 40 on a 2 pole course. If time permits, we will also demonstrate Quickie 25 and AMA 424. We fully expect to have time for the Quickie demos.

The weather is the big wild card. But part of the runway area has been paved, so taking off will be no problem.

Humpy Wheeler has made this event possible. He is flying R/C now and really enjoys the many facets of the hobby. We have been flying float planes at his house on the lake as well. Humpy plans to attend the fly-in. He's a really nice guy. Come out and see the demo and meet Humpy.

The web site for the LMS flying site is at www.LowesRC.com. The flier for the event and pre-registration are accessible from the home page. I just got the registration page online last night, so there aren't many people registered yet.

I will have the portable hobby shop at the fly-in and will have Club 40 planes and engines for sale. So bring your cash or credit cards.

Don,
I really hope this gets a decent turn out for you. We appreciate your hard work in getting this arranged between LMS and the local club.

It will be very exciting to see the diffrent types of racing along with several other just plain fast models.

Have fun!

Well the flyin at LMS went pretty good up until about 12 noon Jim Katz James Barr and myself were putting on a noontime 424 demo when about 5 or 6 laps in mother nature took over all of a sudden and we had to land faster than we flew, alot of different kinds and sizes of planes there and of course 700 HP engines in the back ground, we could of waited it out an hour or so but James and I had a nice long ride home so we dried off and went home.

Thanks Tommy for your help at the fly in.

Tommy walked about 100 yards to retrieve my Diamond Dust that I had to land out in the far grass area. There must have been 10 race cars doing laps on the racetrack and I didn't hear the engin give me that low fuel sputter. It has the glide ratio of a rock, so you have to take what you can get. Tommy, being the true friend that he is, took off to get it without being asked.

The few laps that we did put in were exciting. It was on the 2 pole, 400 foot course. Nothing official. We were just doing laps and having fun. I kept hearing guys on the flight line moan when we would get close together. Then the rain hit.

We really missed Vic and Seth.

I missed seeing you guys too. I was racing my bike in that crazy rain! The hail was hard to deal with but the hydroplaning was the real danger. We''ll get togeather soon don''t worry.

Sorry I missed you guys . . . I looked at the weather and decided it did not look very promising. Sounds like I should have gone. Bliss told me he saw you James. - Seth
