Well I want my own thread too, just kidding but I figured the E-Smart deserved its own thread. It seems to be growing in popularity so lets try to get some good info for them in this thread. If you have any tips or suggestions let the rest of the community know. So..

The E-Smart only comes in Semi-Metal (full metal and carbon editions are upgraded semi-metal versions) they no longer make a plastic version. They can be bought with or without motor.

Check HERE for a cheap price on the motor (note: I have never used this company so I cannot vouche for their service)

I have like $805 into my Hurricane 550 but already had Tx and Rx and thats two sets of batteries. So your not doing to bad. You need to keep us posted when you start flying.And pics too.

The cheapest place to buy an E-smart is on ebay from Heli direct. I've seen them go for $86.00 plus $30.00 shipping.

I'll be putting some pics up, unfortunately they won't be very good quality, I'd have to buy a better digi cam for that, and that'd take away from my heli fund [:D], but I'm also gonna make a vid of the complete build so you can all watch it go together. As for flying it, that won't be for a while, my Belt CP scares me enough, I can only imagine what the E-Smart is gonna be like. Its powerful enough stock, to rip the blade covering right off, and speaking of which, I have to add new blades to my list.

Well, thanks to your link now I know why I keep burning out Hobby wing programming cards. I guess I'll have to get a 4.8 volt receiver battery.

I guess I'll jump in here too. I received the E Smart last week and am in the process if accumulating the necessary stuff to complete the build. Its a really nice heli for the money but there are a few issues. I swore when it got it I would fly it stock but just cant help myself. Here's a few pics of what it looks like out of the box. As soon as the upgrades arrive I'll post them to this build tread. So far most of the issues I've read about are a cheap fix (upgrades and stock parts are plentiful and cheap). I'm planning on using all the Align 600 electronics. I'm going to try my had at A123 batteries in addition to Li Pos just to see how they stack up. This is by no means the quality of a T Rex 600 but for the money you can get flying pretty cheap. Wish me luck. Mike

Sweet, just got my Belt CP fixed, and just finished its test flight, everything works perfect, well except for the glitching in the servos, but its been like that since I got it, soo now it gets put on the shelf right next to my E-Smart, not flying the Belt CP till after I finish the E-Smart. I can't afford to fix the Belt AND build my E-Smart at the same time [:D]

That's all I think I'll need.

yours didn't come with the metal flybar control shaft?

I wash thinking of getting that swashplate and washout assambly, but if anything I'll get
Metal Front and rear rudder horn and Metal left and right rudder horn
I only want those for now so that once I have the linkages set right I won't have to mess with them again for some time, hopefully

Watch what you order parts ending in A don't fit some E Smart Models (don't ask me why). My Fly bar was plastic is I figured I would start replacing Stuff that spins around first. I would diffenently would check with them first to be sure they fit. Mike

Ohh, I think I know what happened (maybe [:D]), what is the model number on your E-Smart box. E_Sky recently changed from 3 seperate versions to 1, the semi-metal kit. The full metal kit and carbon kit are just upgraded semi-metal kits. The discontinued the original plastic kit, which did have some oddball parts. My model number is EK5H-E004D Semi metal

Mines the Metal frame W/Motor EK5H-E001. Since I picked it up for 150 delivered I'm not feeling to bad about the upgrades. Heli Direct has them for 249 + shipping. I think I'm still way ahead and will have a very nice helicopter. Mike

yep, you got one of the last plastic editions, but getting it with the motor is a hell of a deal [X(] [:D]. I just wonder what parts don't fit yours and why.

Its a weird deal you need to look this tread its rather long but tons of info. Seems like they made changes and most were unaware. There's a A and B at the end of the part #. here's the tread. Happy reading. Mike

If there's anything I can help with. Let me know. I'm making a a pack from A123's and am looking for a balancing diagram right now.
I plane on ordering a 5 cell 3700 or 4000 Li Po pac ( on a recommendation from a guy on the Run Ryder Forum). He swears buy the 5 cell over the 6 due to weight. I guess 'll find out. I'm hoping my electronic stuff shows up from Heli Direct tomorrow and my upgrade stuff fro BP should be here later in the week. I'll post pictures when they show. Mike

Thanks, my weak point is the batteries. Li Pos come ready to go with balance taps but since I'm doing the A123's I'm looking for all the help I can get. I'm sure its not that difficult but when you haven't ever messed with it its intimatating. Thanks again for the diagrams I may call on you for more help as I proceed. Mike

Your welcome. I didn't design those, but I have a basic understanding on how they work and I have done small scale experiments with them. Still working the bugs out.

I wanna get the carbon frame sides before I assemble it for good, I just put it together to get an idea of how big it actually is, now I need to disassemble everything and go through with locktite, but there are parts I wanna upgrade now so I don't have to take it apart later

Well I ordered my DX6i yesterday, it got shipped today, should get it in about 2 days (yeah free shipping [:D], helidirect). The only things left to buy are batteries and charger, and another gyro, my HBK II ate my last one, and it loves it [:D]

But one thing I really hadn''t planned for is buying a few tools needed to complete the job, a good pair of calibers, hex screwdrivers, nut drivers, ball link sizing tool, and a ball end tool. Till they get here I''m kinda stuck in my build, the main frame is assembled and everything but I can''t put the motor on without a hex screwdriver (unless I feel like taking the frame apart [:''(])

I started dry fitting everything together yesterday while I''m waiting for the rest of my stuff. When I first started messing with helicopters I noticed that your lost without the right tools. Here''s some pic''s. I''ll break it down and locktite all the necessary screws. I''m really impressed on how fast this one went together even with the crappy instructions. Mike
