Chad, Fus. looking great. Does the fin have the 2 degree offset from the centerline? I too want to order a tailkit , hope I'm not to late. I'll send an e-mail.

I like the custom building board too, good idea if you have to put it aside for a while to work on something else.
I believe I'm gonna ahem, "borrow", that idea from you.

Borrow away Danny! I'm building the fuse at work so I needed it to be somewhat mobile so that I can put it away when necessary. Also, I wanted to be sure I had a perfectly flat building surface.

It does not have the fin offset although it would be quite simple to add at this point. I don't think the Royal kit includes the offset either. Please do send me an email regarding the tail kit. cvnkv@aol.com

Hmm, well I definately want the offset build-in to the tail, It's gonna be "super" scale afterall.

You could easily add a 2 degree wedge to the fin post where it attaches to F10 or even put F10 itself in at the proper angle. The very slight angle on F10 would not make any difference. If everyone is in agreement that they want the offset I will gladly draw it that way on the plans. As I recall only the fin has the offset while the fairing which lines up with the base of the rudder is right down the centerline.

If we are taking votes, I would opt to design in the offset.

I second the suggestion to design it in.

I agree - it needs to be in the design and Chad is right - only the fin is offset 2 degrees to port. R11 on the Royal plans is the fairing under the rudder and it is on the centerline.

Add my vote to the offset fin! I've been slacking lately but hope to get some progress made soon. Chad, your work is inspiring! Simply beautiful.

Hey Guys,

I was playing around with the cockpit picture P40 posted in post 426 and thought I'd make a prototype on my cnc router, turned out pretty nice:

I'm starting to place cockpit pictures and videos here: Corsair Cockpit.

I'll be adding more as I can. Right now I have a video of the FG-1D undergoing restoration in Cincinnati. On the measuring stick, the tick marks are in inches. I'm placing the files into subfolders/albums so look for left/right/front, etc. folders to help keep things organized.

Not all of the pictures are of the FG-1D.
