Ok guy's I bought this plane second hand and didn't get any video or paperwork, can you tell me the CG location recommened by Aeroworks? And if you have one outfitted like mine I would like to know your measurements. I have a DA 100 std mufflers, With pull pull on the rudder evrything elese is per normal.

The manual suggests CG of 3.25" back from the leading edge of the wing measured at the wing tips, however the plane handles much better with CG at 3.5" back from leading edge at the wing tips. It would still be a good idea to download the manual from Aeroworks as it it a 71 page very detailed manual.

I downloaded the manual, but as you well know, all models don't actually balance where the manual recommends. That's why I was wanting input where your models fly best. For aerobatics and for 3D setups.

Usual practice is to start where the mfg suggests and then find what works best for you. It's not up to anyone else to determine that for you. 3.5, 3.25, 3.75 could all be flown I'm sure but that doesn't make either balance point right for your style of flying. Do your homework and find out what works for you like the rest of us do.

It apears Mark that whats his nuts isnt interested in helping you, so i will. I started out at 3.5 at the tip. I might add a year ago whe I was setting my 35% 260 I was having a real problem with a nose heavy situation. a few other people at that time were also having issues. It might have been jsut a few airplanes at that time, but anyway start where they recomend 3.5 inches from the tip back. It works well. Thats with an empty tank. I have mine back a little further for normal flying. Maybe another 1/2 inch. I cant tell you about 3D set ups. Henry

I don't know where my cg is now, but it is well back of the recommended spot. i started with the recommended location and then i went to the field and flew. it was too nose heavy. I like to be able to do a 45 degree upline, go inverted and maintain the line without any elevator input. SEcond, you need a plane that is not so tail heavy that it is squirrely on landing. I kept adding stickon weights on the elevator until it flew like i like. I found that maintaining the 45 degree upline inverted made for squirrely landings, i then backed off just slightly so that landings were manageable. I ended up adding about 5 oz in the stabilizer tubes to get my cg. I have cans, so that affects the cg, etc. it's really an individual solution, every plane is different and every pilot has their own preferences. ya gotta fly it to figure it out. good luck.

I just set it up per the manual and am going to try that. and see how its goes.

I flew mine right in the middle of our recomended range and really liked it there for 3D.

I balanced mine right at 3.5" and it flies great. I am thinking about moving it back another 1/2 inch or so. BME 110 for power

What is the "middle" of the recommended range ? The assembly manual reads "The recommended CG is 3 1/4'' back from the leading edge of the wing at the tip''. What is the middle ? 3 1/4'' to ?

There used to be a recomended range in the manual. It was 3.25"-3.75, I balanced mine right at 3.5 and it was perfect.
