how do i tell what shock oil i would need? i don't race just a basher. and what is the oil comparable to in terms of weight like how motor oil uses different weights for viscosity. is it the same principles? i haven't got a great understanding of the shock oil weights yet,lol i know engine oils like 30 weight or 5w20 etc. but i just don't get the shock oil thing yet.

You know I never realy knew how the shock oils was, because I make my own by mixing 10W-40 motor oil with multi purpose lithium grease till I get it where I like it to be

your best off with silicone shock oil, temprature wont effect it nearly as much as regular oil and it wont break down as easily.

the viscosity of the oil works like this, lower the number the thinner the oil. 1 is thinner than 10. for everday running use a med number, 5 or 6

most posts Ive read that were 1/8th buggy racing related suggested 40w....although I dont think the silicone shock oil is all that expensive there are some that may think so...I thought about using automotive and desiel oils instead of silicone oils but I dont want the temp playing with it...therefore I buy rc silicone oil and grease
