I'm going to use two JR 8711 servos on the ailerons for the 42% Extra 260. The instruction manual shows the three servo installation only.

Which two of the three holes would you recommend installing the two servos?

Root and Center?
Root and Tip?
Center and Tip?

Thanks for any suggestions and rationale for the two servo placement.

I would put the 2 servos in the center and inward slots. The reason is to keep the center of mass closer to the root intern helping to keep the tips light for tight snaps that stop easier.

The guys at www.TeamFlyingCircus.com had the same suggestion and rationale as "flatlandmike".

Aeroworks, any opinion?

Ask Joe Hunt, as I see his 42% 260 , he's using the inboard and outboard servo locations. www.norcalrc.com

Having the weight closer to the root is good... but the ailerons are built-up and would probably be pretty flexy without a servo on each end.

Jason Noll and Scott Stoops are running the servos on the 2 inboard slots with success. I think it would work but you will need to watch the ailerons and make sure the tips aren't fluttering.
