Just got back from Toledo.
As usual, a great mecca with lots to see (and buy).
Here's a few pictures I took.
If you got any of your own, post 'em.
The last picture is the 500 bucks that I spent for 'odds-n-ends'.
A coupl Mejzlik 16X11 three blade props for the Yellow P-38.
A dummy radial for the BalsaUSA 1/3 Nieuport.
Lots of different size screws from microfastners, FG cloth, smoke fluid, more extensions for future builds of the Yellow P-40, Ziroli P-51, etc, battery packs, CF cloth and push rods, oil for the gas engines and (of course) lots of free literature, mags. (500 bucks doesn't go very far!).
I was very close to buying the Robart's Ziroli all composite P-47.
This is a real nice looking bird.

Just got back a little while ago myself. Great show. Got to see and talk with many vendors I do business with but my special treat was talking with Angie and Mike from SkyShark. Hopefully very soon they will be neighbors of mine whenever this market picks up and I can sell my properties here and move out to Lake Havasu City. Angie said it was 91degrees when they left to come here. Big disapointment was Nito Models did not show up. I wanted to possibility buy their large CMP Corsair if they had the plane with them. Most important, did not spend any money except for food.

I checked out the KMP new 95" B-25.
She looks pretty nice.
This probably won't bother most people but there are no gear doors.
The cutouts are like my old 83" version where they are just shaped kind of like a lolly pop (thin for the strut and then wide for the wheel).
Top flight put some nice doors on their B-25 and I think it would have been nice to do the same on the KMP model.
I guess it would have been nice to have at least a scale hole at each location so doors could more easily be fabricated and attached.
I know you can't see them when flying but I like those kind of 'bells and whistles'.
I guess we're getting spoiled: we want more 'goodies' on each new arf that comes out!

I actually went to the show to meet and talk with Mike and Angie since I decided to move out to AZ. One house I was interested in is right behind theirs so who better to check out the area then someone who lives there. I did also go to see if Nitro Models was selling their large Corsair and to check out different manufacturs for rotating retracts but Nitro didn't show up. As for anything else to buy, I'm stocked up pretty good. I do know who's retracts I will be going with when I get that Corsair.

Was at the show myself on Friday. In my opinion it was much, much better than last year. Quality of the vendors improved and more interesting offers and products.

I was disappointed last year and thought there was a real improvement in the show overall this year. Looking forward to going again 2009.

I did spend a small bundle myself - got the DA50 I wanted which was offered with muffler, prop gig and a prop in a package price. Just to round it out ordered the Aeroworks Pitts Python too!

I like to say I deserve it, but I do feel somewhat guilty, but not too bad about it!

The real buy of the day was Hobby Warehouse guy on swap shop floor who offered JR or Spektrum branded 821 servos 6 for $100. While I know some guys complain about them and then go on to tell you about some ridiculous set up they have with a 50 powered heli that tears the servos up I don't expect my sedate flying style will ever wear these guys out.

I could have easily spent a small fortune more and glad I only had one day to be there otherwise I would have gone broke in the candy store! My motto is to leave something for next time!

Sam,
I wonder if they got that screwed up gear mounting issue fixed?

Seeing as how BD today, treated myself yesterday at Toledo ! PCKits 1/5 L-19, Vailly Plans/Cowl/Gear, Ram Nav. lights. Wife got one of those little Dragonflies. That ended out spending spree. Just a couple pic's.
