Are there any decent, high torque servos for less than $30? Id like to get a 60+ size plane but cant justify paying 3x as much per servo compaired to a 40 size. Its odd the minor upgrade in performance demands a price 3x as much...

thanks,
devin

Opps! Just realized that this is in the wrong section. Could a moderator please move this thread to the servo/radio section.

Futaba 3010 are pretty good high torque's for $24. I use them as does most at our club with no failures.
Also, not high torque but better than standard in my opinion, is Hitec HS-475 HD Deluxe BB for $16.99. These work well in most 40 and 60 size planes.

Jr 821,

72 oz on 4.8 and 80 something on 6 volt

retails for about 30$ but you can find them on ebay for much cheaper

They generally wont go for that much, here is 4 servos http://cgi.ebay.com/Spektrum-DS821-DS-821-JR-DS589-DS-589-4-Servos-New_W0QQitemZ320234163761QQihZ011QQcategoryZ34056QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

id expect these (assuming a biding war doesn't start) to fetch 50-60$

yes the DS-821 servos are very strong with carbonlite gears plus there very fast and accurate on 4.8 volts, even better on 6 volts.
