Jeff Pfeifer -> HurriKane Sheeted Wing Strong enough for 428? (4/7/2008 4:33:38 AM)

I was just wondering if the HurriKane from Super T with the sheeted wing was strong enough for 428? I'm not really wanting to go composite yet.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure the sheeted wing they offer is designed for 424 speeds, not 428.

Although, with fiberglass reinforcement, I'm sure you could make it 428 capable.

You may want to check with the super t guys:

My first few Seekers I ran in 428 used sheeted foam wings and I never had one come apart but that was with the SS engine not the new LS..

I had one fail with a SS, but it was a very light wing with little reinforcement.

How thick is the top sheeting?

I (one of the super t guys, even though Travis gets all the credit[;)]) don't recommend this wing for 428. These wings were built to be used in the 424 class. I don't want to open the debate concerning whether or not if a sheeted wing will work in 428, just that I don't recommend our wing for 428.

top sheeting is 1/16" (no wings currently in stock).
