Ron, R U sure U don't want to put fabric on that plane? It is looking GREAT and fabric would look SO much nicer than "money-cote"... It is really easy... Do a search on here for "fabric" (and maybe add "water-based" and look at the write ups on using water-based polyurethane and/or polycryllic. The fabric is cheap enough (uncertified dacron from Aircraft Spruce and Specialty, www.aircraftspruce.com ) Stick it down around the edges w/ Balsarite for fabric, shrink it with a heat gun, add multiple light coats of polyu or polycryllic, paint w/ acryllic latex (using your sprayer or even brushed) or rattle can Rustoleum Professional. It might be a bit heavier than plastic (especially the first time you do it, you will use too much paint) but this plane is going to be a "kite" anyway, some add'l weight might actually be a GOOD thing... It also adds a TREMENDOUS amount of STRENGTH to the framework that plastic does not.

I have a couple airframes built that I am going to cover soon. Maybe I could get with you and show you the process with those.

Ron I have been using solar-tex fabric for years.you can get it in several colors. I then cover it in water based poly-urethane. It irons on ,then you shrink it with your heat gun if need be. You can buy it at hanger nine or Nelsons Hobbies you can get it in 2meter or 5meter and some colors in 10 meter rolls,

I want to thank you gentlemen for the suggestions but it will have to be for the next plane. I have already purchased Century 21 fabric to cover the plane.
I like the way it looks and works.
I covered a cub 9 years ago and it still looks as good as the day I covered it.
The cloth weave shows too. It, also, is strong.
I have several planes still in boxes so I will give both of your ideas a try.

Does anyone have any Idea of how I can get these pictures smaller like they were before?
My camera settings are the same but the posting screen for RCU is different. It is huge!

Thanks again for the ideas.
I think that cheaper is going to be on my schedule in the future.
The cost of everything has just exceeded my income.

It's been a busy weekend for having fun.
I got a little building in too. It took me almost 6 hours to do this little piece.
I've always mounted my servos on rails. A gentleman and I have been passing ideas back and forth and this is similar to the method he uses.
His installations are really neat and now I am trying to mimic them.

The rails you see will be glued to the side of the fuselage and the servo mount and receiver will just plop in and be bolted down.
I'm sure lots of you guys have been doing it that way for years.
Anyhow here are a couple of pics.

Except for the plugging in of the "Y" harness for the ailerons, the servo installation, battery installation, receiver, and switches in the fuselage is complete.
The fuel tank compartment has been given one coat of epoxy and will be given one more coat before I install the fuel tanks.
I'm considering adding a smoker. Any thoughts on that?
Does anyone think that the wire in piper cleaners will affect the radio? Think nylon straps would be better?

Progress is slowing down.
Decided to use nylon tie downs in lieu of pipe cleaners to hold rx in place.
A latex rubber pad is under it.
Ran antenna along a dowel rod and placed in plane with tape for ease of removal should it be desired.
