After many years, I wanted to get back into the RC world, so I purchased a car kit, controller, etc.

I purchased two 2000mah nimh batteries, then it was time to select a charger. Well, I cheaped out and bought a duratrax 15 minute quick charger. I read all the details on Towers website, and I was sure I was good.

I charged the batteries 4 times each or so (about 3o minutes quick charge each time), well today, I noticed that the websites details says for nicds only. I swear that wasnt there before. But whatever, I'll search for a new charger now. But did I screw up the batteries?

What was I doing? Over charging? Undercharging?

This is the charger I am speaking about:

NOw, its time to find another charger, I would like to do two at a time, but dont have a huge amount to spend... maybe $75.

I am trying to learn about all this stuff, charging times, discharging...errr there is soooo much.

TIA

Rob

You happened to hit it about perfect. 30 minutes for 2000 mah. No harm done , your batts still work good right?

Here's a few good dual chargers for under $75

The dual peak is twice as fast than the MKII , but would be harder on your batts (charging them at twice the rate.)

THe batteries seem to be ok, I always monitor the temp and they never get past warm.
The car still screams everytime I put a full battery in it.
So I am hoping all is well.

Thanks
Rob
